How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room smaller than expected and not a fan of basement rooms - though there was a positive to this (see above) parts of room a bit tatty - torn wallpaper and some mould in corner skirting board.
Very well situated for Central London and major attractions/ Underground/ places to eat/ shops. As room in basement and internal, we were not disturbed by noise from the street. Shower and bathroom fine. Didn’t use Lounge at Reception, but it was comfortable and had tea/coffee making facilities.

The room was overlooked, so opening the curtains and windows for some air made me feel on show. Some frosting film on the windows would do the job, and still let some natural light in. Never saw any staff... or anyone... so felt a bit lifeless, but I was only there a short time, so no biggy Oh, the shower tray doesn't drain well, so shower quick!!
Perfect for what I needed when attending a 2 day conference nearby. Compact but comfortable, had all I needed... comfy (small double) bed, some hanging space, fridge, kettle, bathroom, TV. It was also pretty quiet, which was a bonus. Although you can hear the toilet flush above

We had problems with the adapters to charge our phones so we had to change and try a couple
The location was super good! Close to bus stops and 8min from the metro, it was quiet and comfortable

The key situation, was a bit scared as they had my bag but didn’t man the reception so had to wait for someone to open the door
It was only 2 blocks from Oxford street which was great, very local. The place inside was clean and smelled lovely, staff were very very nice

Small room was expected but it was small. View was an alley. Heating room was challenging due to lack of instructions. Very sparse bedding and towels. Some dispenser on wall is shower.
Location to our child studying abroad at U of Westminster. Location to the bus and tube. One block from the major eating area.

Not enough towels or pillows and far too noisy. No windows only doors to balcony which couldnt be left open because too noisy and no privacy. Shower cubicle could have been much cleaner.
The bed was comfortable and lovely balcony and fridge as extra

we didn't notice any problems
Nice and cozy hotel on the beautiful street. Rooms are tiny but comfortable and well equiped, the neighborhood is quiet and safe. It is a good choice if you have only 1-2 nights in London.

Central, clean and affordable. It was also important that we were able to drop our bags off in the morning before check in later - although Gehad and the team managed an early check in for us in the end , which was an absolute delight after all night travel 😀. Very friendly staff.

Nothing, everything is as expected.
I have been in this hotel before, the location is excellent, the rooms are spotless clean and they have very good rates, I like the self check-in option and I don't mind to go out for breakfast (there is no restaurant on site). Tea/coffee set is available in the room though. There are many food options around and the tube station is few mins away. Staff is very friendly and the communication with the hotel is excellent.

It was loud due to the road and single pane windows. Nothing that can be done about that but curtains could be much better as it was bright and I could feel a cold draft too.
Very affordable, just what we needed as a place to stay after a night out.

Room was only cleaned on every other day. That service should be daily. Least i would expect from a hotel.
