    Lovely Cottage despite first impressions

First impressions were worrying as the outside window ledges were covered in bird droppings and the garden was impassable as it was so overgrown. Apparently the work was booked to be done but worker has not turned up. Garden was eventually mown mid way through the week.

The cottage was lovely and very comfortable for the 2 of us. All facilities were available and there was even a welcome pack of essentials like milk and eggs. WiFi was great once we got help with the code! (our fault)

Road traffic in morning can be a little loud but we are used to complete silence at home so could just be that we aren't as used to it!

Lovely cosy cottage, fully equipped with all modern comforts and amenities.

Not much! It was fab, aside a few dirty pans in the kitchen. We cleaned them before using.

Cosy little place. Log burner (dinky but great). Down the road from a good pub! Really good location on the A5. Lots to visit within a short drive. And the wax melts in the burner… made everything smell divine!

Some issues with the cleanliness of kitchen items, which was disappointing. This could have been due to previous occupants, but they should have been checked on change over.

Perfect situation, in a quiet rural area, adequate facilities, and very comfortable property. Perfect if you want to be self-sufficient. Private drive for off the road parking and fabulous views.

    Nothing.

Really well-appointed cottage, just far enough away from the busyness. It had everything we needed. Great location for exploring. We would definitely stay here again. And the couple that let the cottage are lovely, friendly and helpful. Can't recommend highly enough.

The road was a bit noisy in the morning from in bed. Didn't notice it during the evening with the TV on. Would of been nice to have some outdoors seating, the garden was a bit over grown.

Good location, nice amount of space inside the house for a cottage. Good parking area room for our 2 cars easily. Space to keep bikes out of sight overnight which was useful.

Cold inside (as expected from stone cottage) followed instructions for heating but boiler just did what it wanted. Double bedroom had foisty smell, perhaps fresh duvet may be needed.

Good value for the area, spacious and clean. Lovely views. Easy check in. It was ideal for us because I grew up in the area. Overall we had a great week. Would have been nice to have some more info on local walks from the owners.

No tablets for the dishwasher and no sponge/brush to clean dishes made it difficult to clean the dishes after cooking with only cloth. Also, the general cleanliness of the floors in the place could have been a bit better. The mattresses in the bedrooms were quite worn out.

Nice area, well-equipped kitchen for cooking. Convenient access and parking space outside for two cars. Nice bench in the garden for breakfast. Three convenient bedrooms with storage. Very clean bathroom and kitchen. Dishwasher and washing machine. Excellent water pressure in the shower.

It is not actually in Betws-y-coed town centre, it is in Pentrefoelas, around 20 minutes drive and it only has a small co-op although lots of cute outdoor shops, cafes, restaurants. The driveway for car parking was great but quite a sharp turn on a 40 mile road in and out so just need to becareful of passing traffic on the way in and out.

Remote country side location, woke up to birds chirping and surrounded by greeneries. Beds were comfortable and house had all amenities including dish washer, washing machine, TV, wood fire. Toilets were clean and the shower was powerful. Owner was responsive when I contacted regarding a fault in the shower railing coming off, it was fixed the same day.

it was fine, getting out of the drive was a bit hairy, but we got the hang of it,and there’s not much one can do anyway!

clean and well equipped, could do with living in by owners for a few days to find those little things that were missing but wouldn’t occur unless you stayed in the house. The tv could do with updating for example, and maybe some picnic boxes.? The telephone number on the website is not the same as the one in the brochure in the cottage.Which may account for the person slamming the phone down on me when I tried to call before coming to Wales!

The WiFi seemed to be a "pay as you go" arrangement, and whilst the owner was quick to top up the data, we ran out twice during the week.

Lovely cottage set in beautiful surroundings. Excellent facilities for a family of four. A short drive from Betws-y-Coed and ZipWorld. The wood burner was a bonus which we enjoyed, and we were able to purchase more logs and kindling from the Spar in Betws-y-Coed.

There was nothing to not like about this property.

Fantastic location as in away from the more tourist areas but very central for all of areas (a vehicle is a necessity if you want to visit surrounding area). The cottage was very clean, well maintained and had everything you’d need from a holiday cottage. There was an issue with the WiFi (data had ran out) but this was immediately rectified by the owner. Also there was no hairdryer (there should have been one but think perhaps a previous guest had mistakenly took it) and again a text to the owner and a brand new one was provided that day. Milk and Welsh cakes on arrival was a very nice touch. Beds were very comfortable and all rooms well presented. There is a lovely little lake to the rear of the property which can be accessed via a walking route over a couple of fields … lovely views and sounds got a morning coffee. There’s also a nice little outdoor seating area for those evenings when it’s too nice to be inside. Will remember this cottage when visiting Wales again. A thoroughly enjoyable family stay. Thank you Arfona

Main bedroom bed could’ve been bigger, didn’t like the fact the front door key was in the door, the boiler system could be updated as we realised we had to leave it on the whole time for the place to stay heated. Could’ve done with more firewood as could only use it once. Could also make the leaving time a little later as think 9am is a bit early as needed to clean after ourselves before leaving.

Liked the scenery, how quiet it was, the whole place was spacious, lots of room.
