Honestly, nothing, this was exactly what I wanted for great value.

The information provided was clear and detailed about how to get to the building, access the key pad for the keys, and get into the building. I phoned the owner to confirm some details of our stay, and he picked up straight away. He reassured me about the details I needed, pointed out local shops and left me feeling he was friendly, warm, and above all reliable. Everything was as clean as I would want, the shower was quickly hot and pressured, toiletries and good cooking facilities were provided, and for the price I will be back when I'm next in Birmingham centre.

Like all locations that are new, I was wary about the neighborhood as it is in the suburbs, a walk away from the main street. But the next day, you realize the property was near the corner and bus stop, then take a second right and you can sight Tesco Express down the road....Shared areas are also awkward, but I was lucky to coincide with cooperative/respectful fellow tenants.

The common areas (well-equipped and organized kitchen; bath and shower) were clean and tidy. The kitchen even had individualized cabinets for each room. Host was receptive and kind, to address any concern even through messaging, starting with how to access the property. There were stairs to climb, but it wasn't so bad.

Great value for money, clean facilities, the host very helpful when I had to anticipate my check-in. Also the mattress is memory foam! And free car park.

Unfortunately, I did not receive the instructions on how to find the property and how to get in until an hour after the time I had informed the host that I would arrive. So it was difficult to find and I wasted a lot of time driving up and down the road looking for the building. When I got there the receptionist didn’t seem to be aware of my booking, even though it was on the laptop in front of him and I wasted even more time persuading him to let me in. I ended up having to rearrange my dinner date to a later time as a result of all this. It’s advertised as a maisonette and I figured I could cope with one set of stairs (I have bad knees) but actually there are several flights of steep stairs to get to the bedroom and I had a lot of luggage, so it was not ideal for me. I did not find the bed very comfortable. There was no chair in the room. There was no rubbish bin in the room or the bathroom. The room was superficially clean but there was rubbish left behind by a previous occupant down the side of the bed. It was cold in the room (I later received instructions about how to turn on the heating from downstairs but I couldn’t face going up and down the stairs again.)

The location was perfect for me - just a 4 minute drive from the venue I was attending. It was quiet and secure. The person who greeted me and gave me my keys was friendly. There was a good shower, with plenty of hot water and a nice big bath towel. There was everything you need for a short stay in the kitchen. There were plenty of electric sockets in the bedroom, and free wifi.

As a couple we got a room with a double bed, a window, wardrobe and a drawer. There were also a desk lamp, TV and lots of sockets in the room. There were three rooms and shared separate bathroom and toilet on our floor. Everything was clean. We weren’t bothered with any noise during our stay but I guess it depends on tenants. The kitchen on the lower floor was well equipped, each room is provided with its own kitchen shelving. The owner was friendly and easy going. A very nice experience for its price overall!

The bed and room smelled bad. Internet not working well. It's not close to the centre. You need to walk for at least 15 minutes. Check in too late, check out too early

Unfortunately there was some miscommunication when arriving as we were told room 2 in our instructions and the room keys looked like it said 2 (it was a 1, easy to confuse) we called the landlord and he sorted it fine, however at 11:45pm another couple checking in had the same issue and tried to get into our room. As two young girls staying alone this was quite scary when someone is attempting to put their key in your door so late. I think a bin would also be a great addition to the rooms or even bathroom as there wasn’t any. I know it can’t be helped but unfortunately there were joyriders until 3am and then when we did try to go to sleep someone in the house was taking a shower. As I said, lovely and clean and polite people just not sure I would stay again especially as this stay cost me £78 for one night and we didn’t get much sleep or relaxation.

The place is not in the centre or even near, yet taking a bus will sort out the distance. I did not experience any bad thing related with safety and secure though.

Price quality related the place was good enough. The communal areas were quite clean, the host was very kind and keen to help and support all the time.
