How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was nothing to dislike about this accommodation. There was no room service (good job I'm a tidy person) which surprised me but not really a problem as far as I'm concerned.
Breakfast was not included in the price of the room.... but would normally be available in the Bistro next door from 9am. I was booked in for two nights (Monday and Tuesday) but learned that the Bistro was closed on Tuesday morning...so this was unfortunate on 2 counts. Not available on day 1 and available too late for my needs on day 2.

Everything was great
Great access to the park and ride into York. Lovely spotlessly clean room and shower was great. Breakfast was in the cafe downstairs and was ample. Very nice. Nice quiet location. Can't fault it. Very good communication with Gillian albeit we never met. But everything went smoothly and we left feeling very satisfied with everything.

The room is newly decorated, very spacious and clean. Very quiet location. It's a bit of a journey out of York, but there is a bus stop immediately outside the building which takes you directly to the centre of the city.

A fair bit of noise coming from the restaurant downstairs on the Saturday evening and breakfast in that same place the next morning was ok. The room was advertised as a luxury King room which made me think it was a king sized bed but it was a standard double.
Room was large, very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Nice luxurious-feel furnishings and plenty of tv channels inc Netflix. £120 is quite a lot of money but to pay but it did inc breakfast and given the quality of the finish in the room it was definitely justified.

The breakfast in the cafe below was ok but very overpriced. The worst thing was the noise in there….it was busy but it echoed really badly, so badly, I couldn’t hear the waiter. we were glad to get out of there into the nice quiet street.

I didn't like the pub at the end of the road no food served run down. Cafe prices for breakfast to high, there where no other places nearby to buy breakfast from .A set breakfast with drink including would be better value but every item had a price add them all together then costs more.
Very good room large with walk in shower.

It was a hot night but a fan was provided.

We stopped at SixteenB on our road trip from London to Edinburgh. Everything was perfect. We travelled with my son and daughter in law and had the two rooms upstairs. Very clean, with everything we needed. The breakfast at the little restaurant downstairs was delicious. I have to point out a very nice gesture from Gillian : During our stay, I forgot my purse and everything in it in the bedroom and Gillian sent it back to me in Canada.

The only problem was that there was no breakfast. The cafe downstairs was closed on Monday morning and the local bakery and the supermarket did not sell fresh croissants. A good idea to take your own if you stay on Sunday night but a small fridge in the room would have been welcome.
Extremely comfortable bed in a spacious room with a good shower room and thick soft towels.
