“What a wonderful place. The location by brotherswater amongst the mountains is fantastic, easy to get to, and a must for any hillwalking fans. The car park is spacious and the road leading up to it via Ullswater is easy. From the moment we arrived and checked in we were looked after as though we were the only people there, our stay throughout had a really personal touch. It is very much recommended to book a table as it does get busy for evening meals, but we were given a lovely table both nights with spectacular views and the food is delicious, big portions and real pub classics available. The room is very comfortable and also affords excellent views. We can't wait to go again and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff (all of them) who were attentive, informative, and offered such charm and care in everything they did. I've never been so well treated and felt so relaxed on a break in the Lakes, 5 stars all the way.”
