How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room did not have milk for coffee or tea.
Great location, close to the motorway. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed and bedding very comfortable.

New coat of paint for the exterior. Other than that it was brilliant
Brilliant place to stay on a trip down to the south of France, literally just off the motorway. Thought it would be noisy but instead it was really quiet and peaceful. Brilliant food for both dinner and breakfast. Can't recommend it highly enough. Don't be out off by the need for a coat of paint outside.

desk try to sheet me as they asked for extra fees for my dog which are included in Booking tariff desk not happy with booking tariff and cry about price error as the hotel is full

I came to Salaise for work. Loved staying in Mercure. Good place to access the factory easily. Nice, calm and serene location. There is a place which is at a walkable distance from the hotel, where you can find lot of shops, super markets etc. I loved it. I stayed here twice and i would recommend people to stay here to enjoy the calmness. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here, if i come again.

The bed on our second stay seemed very small. It was narrower than the gap between the side tables. The food was tasty but beef was fatty and rather dry in the top as if it had been left around for a while.
Our first stay was very comfortable. Our second when returning from our trip was disappointing

Great location near the highway. Fast charge available on the hotel parking, 20 meters from the entrance. Very nice breakfast, good big beds and matraces.

At 17 euros I thought that breakfast was overpriced.
Easy to find just off the main drag. Spacious room, comfortable bed, compact shower room with very nice toiletries. Non slip shower tray and powerful rain head shower. Plenty of parking. Nice restaurant with good service.

Paint coming of the walls, water damage on walls, all hard surfaces really work down, the minibar is empty (doesn’t really count as a minibar in my opinion), I had pre-ordered a drink which I couldn’t get arriving late (even this was informed upon booking), walls paper thin so I could enjoy the sound from the room next to me… it looks like a perfect place for a horror movie set.
It was just a stopover driving through Europe. Even so, this was disappointing. Only good thing is location close to motorway.

Welcome cool drinks for our group of 5 cyclists on arrival, lovely staff at reception and in the restaurant, quality food and drink, comfortable and attractive rooms. Secure bicycle storage.

Can't find any faults
Location brilliant, especially as just off the Peage and was able to use local petrol garages to fill up, rather than pay the high prices on the peage. Breakfast was plentiful, good assortment of cereals and breads.

Overpriced for the poor quality of the facility. We entered the room and it was full of flies, bed sheets weren’t really placed correctly and the shower was old and leaked in the whole bathroom. Not a really nice smell either as the room smelled liked smoke. Not really what you would expect from an hotel chain like Mercure. The only positive thing is the staff! very kind and available.
Property was really easy to reach and lots of free parking available
