Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LatviaA good place where to stay for a night or two - the room is nice &clean, but basic. Location is good, easy accessible, the medieval city just around the corner. The owner is the biggest added value to the place - he offers freshly baked pizzas and breakfast.

United KingdomSet in a quiet courtyard, literally round the corner from the interesting medieval village of Perouges. As the village gets busy with visitors it’s perfect to be able to retreat until the majority have left. The room itself was simply furnished but comfortable, stylish and clean. Friendly owner, though we communicated mainly with smiles and gestures!

BelgiumThe room is well-fit for purpose to stay for a night in the nice town of Perouges, but not to stay for a longer period.
The room is located just outside the old center of Perouges, opposite the tourist office, adjacent the courtyard of a purposefully redesigned old building. As it is located well off the road, it is calm and well fit for purpose for a short stay in view of visiting the very pretty town of Perouges. The quality of the bed was really good.

United KingdomAs mentioned in previous reviews there are a lot of cats in the courtyard. If you don't like cats then I would avoid. Breakfast consisted of juice, coffee, a croissant and a large chunk of baguette with butter and jam. Although they were very tasty, it was not well presented and no plates were provided. This was the most expensive breakfast we came across and did not meet expectations for the price.
Excellent location for access to Perouges. On site parking. Rooms lovely and very clean. Meals and pizzas available on site but we just had breakfast.

FranceRoom furnishings were spartan - could have done with a chair or somewhere to put clothes (a hat rack was in the room). Only one towel was provided for 2 people.
The location is ideal on the periphery of the village. The room was spotlessly clean and food was available by arrangement if required. Parking was available within the property grounds. The proprietor was very pleasant and attentive to guests.

NetherlandsRoom is sparsely furnished, no place to hang clothes, no chair, no coffee facilities, no small refrigerator. The owner is nice and can make good pizza’s. But does not always clean up the feces of the many cats and dogs. We had a lot of trouble with the dozens of flies in the room. Not enough comfort for the price.
The owner can make nice pizza's

CanadaWe are mesmerized by the atmosphere of the hotel and the location. We arrived middle of the night but the owner welcomed us with a big smile he made us food because we where very hungry. he give us our hotel room key and the room was clean and comfortable. Big bonus on any hotel stay he provide a safe parking spot right at the property. for us was a big big help and appreciate it very much because we are traveling Europe and parking always hard to find this was so convenient we can just walk up to our room from out car. The hotel was a surprise destination little outside of Lyon we end up here because we couldn't find hotel in Lyon but what a beautiful surprise we stayed longer than we booked at first because we where mesmerized by the place . the little medieval town is walking distance from the hotel restaurants and coffee shops welcomed. We had to stay to discover the area, the town is still feels like you are back in the XIV century, absolutely beautiful for me was a peaceful paradise. I enjoyed the most this destination in our Europe trip. I felt like I am back in the middle ages and I fully able to enjoy just the magical part of it. What a place!!! I recommend to take your time to enjoy peace in this little paradise.
