Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe wi-fi was a bit patchy but I wouldn't let that put you off!
We stayed just the one night as it was at the end of our holiday in France and the hotel was in a good place to reach the ferry terminal. The owner got in touch with all the instructions for our stay and the although the hotel was under going renovations, it was clean and tidy and our rooms was really nice. The furniture was typically French and looked great, the beds were fabulous and very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size, the shower was good too and it had everything we needed in it. The entry was by pin code and this was supplied before our arrival and everything worked fine. We found the hotel easily and its fairly central and close to the ferry ports which was great for us. The area is fairly quiet and is close to quite a lot of food places which is good. Overall we had a lovely stay and would be good to go back and stay once the renovations are completed!

United KingdomThe floorboards were VERY squeaky, it didn't bother us as it was part of the rooms charm, but we were concerned about the sound carrying to other rooms, especially the one below us. The switch for one of the bedside lamps also controlled the main light in the room, so unfortunately you couldn't read with just the bedside light on ....which if your partner can't sleep with the light on it could be a problem!😬 We were also a bit concerned about the apparent lack of smoke alarms and fire exit procedures and signs.
After reading previous (old) reviews on TripAdvisor, we were a bit apprehensive of what to expect before we arrived at the hotel. We knew the exterior of the building didn't really look welcoming, but we hoped the interior wasn't as bad. We were pleasantly surprised by what we were led to believe was a building site inside due to the "ongoing" renovations. Yes, there were signs of ongoing work with a few wires exposed on the landing ceilings, but that was all. The room was small but had everything you needed in there, including a kettle and real china cups!!🎉 there were 2 chairs and a nice ensuite. The bed and pillows were really, really comfortable. There was a small balcony overlooking the park , and if the weather had been warmer, we would have made use of it 🥺 There was a shared lounge with a fridge and a coffee machine, which was a nice touch. All in all, we found it to be preferable to the other one night stop over, value for money hotels in Calais, which unfortunately seem to be few and far between these days. And yes, we feel we did make a good choice.

AustraliaThere was no lift, which was hard because we were on the third floor and had a lot of luggage. Because there was no carpet, there was a lot of noise.
The bed was huge and very comfortable, I loved having a bath and the room was quite roomy. It was easy to get into the place with the code number.

United KingdomThis hotel is perfect for a short break or a stopover in Calais before an onward journey. The hotel is easy to find, it was easy to park, the host was very welcoming and hospitable. The room was well decorated and perfectly equipped for a short stay. The hotel is in a very nice area, with some great restaurants and little boutique shops within a 3 minute walk. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good, there is a breakfast room with tea and coffee making facilities so you can buy croissant etc from a nearby bakery and enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

United KingdomMy room didn't have curtains, but perhaps that's a work in progress
Benoit is a great host with exceptional English, he gave me a warm welcome on such a cold day! The hotel is in the process of a refurb, it has a lovely charm with the wooden stairs and corridors. My bedroom was a comfortable size, the bed was big and cosy! I had a good balcony which would be lovely in the Summer overlooking the facing park. It is two minutes from the train station and bus station, there is a nearby take-out, actually quite a few and a small Carrefour. It's just off a road with bars and restaurants, yet no noise at all. You can go out for a drink and be out very late and feel safe knowing you're nearby. This was my third stay, it definitely won't be my last

United KingdomThe room we were in would be better with a standard double, for aesthetic appeal only.
Once renovations are complete it could be a romantic setting. Unsure as to whether breakfast would then be offered. Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance plus other shops if there during opening hours. Very comfortable large bed, cosy en site shower room, toilet and basin.Suited our needs for an overnight stay.😊
