Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomGiven the fabulous position of the hotel on the promenade des Anglais, we were disappointed at the lack of communal space for guests to view the Promenade. Neither the reception area nor breakfast area on the third floor had a good view.

PolandWell, some of the personnel was new (or they claimed to be new), and some of them did not speak English (which is weird, since this is a 5-star hotel in a tourist city, where MOST guests speak English and not French. This posed some troubles for us in certain cases (especially during meals, where most personnel did not speak English at all...). Also, we did not like how breakfasts were organized - putting people making eggs and omelettes right behind the counter with hot dishes resulted in long queues of people waiting to just take their scrambled eggs from the counter, instead having to wait for 10 minutes of more because of all those people who did not want to use the countrers with hot dishes, but were rather waiting for the pleasant cooks to cook them personalized omelettes etc. Coffee was often out, we NEVER had larger plates (we had to ask for them, basically, every single time, because they ran out quickly and then for 10 minutes nobody would bring new ones). If this is how the restaurant works during out-of-season time, I am afraid this must be far worse during April-September season, when the hotel is full of guests (we stayed in February, it was probably 50% booked). This was by far the worst restaurant and breakfast experience that we have EVER had anywhere in the world. A 3* hotel does this better, so I assume that either they were severely understaffed during February or they should redesign their restaurant and optimize it A LOT. Just go to other hotels, see how it looks there and copy, please! Breakfasts themselves were tasty, to be honest, but we ALWAYS ate them cold (even the hot dishes, due to having to wait in long lines). Also, our credit card was double-charged for the whole stay - first, a reservation was made on my credit card, and then - when checking out - another charge was made. The difference was returned only after two weeks! This is not OK - charging EUR 1600 instead of 800 is not ok. Even if they do return it eventually.
I liked almost everything. The quality of our stay was magnificent and it really shows this is a five-star establishment. And at this price (out-of-season, true) - this was really a bargain. Ca 800 EUR per 2 nights with breakfasts in Nice along the English Promenade is a steal! The staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant, the works of art inside the lobby and the interesting installation by the entrance always made our day whenever we strolled through the lobby.
