Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This home is truly incredible, so well decorated and maintained its style. Very tasteful and full of beautiful objects and feel of luxury. The location is a lovely small town with a range of great restaurants and fascinating ramparts and defences. Superb small shops, the cheese shop in particular! Easily accessible from Calais so great for a short break from the UK. There are many planned walks and great countryside.

United KingdomThe Maison only has four rooms and only one other room was occupied on two of our three nights. We were Ok with this, but if you are looking for lots of guests to socialise with then Maison 76 is probably the wrong choice for you.
Excellent location. Attic suite very comfortable and private. Lovely lounge. Lovely courtyard. Quirky.

United KingdomWe were sorry that the weather hadn't warmed up enough to really be able to enjoy the pretty garden The pool would be so nice in the summer. So not really a complaint. We may have to return in the summer!
Madame was so welcoming. The house is beautiful and the breakfast was amazing. It is situated in the centre of Montreuil with excellent restaurants to choose from. It exceeded our expectations and we would thoroughly recommend this extremely comfortable place to stay.

United KingdomThe stairs were a bit steep, but realise it is a very old house.
We were met at reception with a glass of welcoming wine by the manager of the property, which was a first for us after many years of travel. The breakfasts were wonderful. There was such a variety of everything to choose from, plus a cooked breakfast too. The location was very central to everything,

United KingdomMaison-76 is absolutely beautiful - tastefully decorated throughout, beautifully welcoming. Lydia’s care, and genuine desire to make one’s stay amazing, shines through. The breakfasts are sublime and plentiful and it’s a good job we were only staying two days! I couldn’t eat at that level of delight without ramifications on my waistline! The room was gorgeous, the bed fabulously comfortable and we are definitely planning a return visit.

United KingdomBeautiful, luxurious, and peaceful. Excellent communication and a very warm welcome from the manager who went the extra mile to secure a restaurant booking for us when many places were already full on Valentine's Day. Lots of thoughtful extra touches like chocolates, red rose & petals on the bed, mini bar, quality bed linen & comfy bed. The breakfast is copious with local produce served in a beautiful setting. Wonderful place for foodies and for local history. Superb private garden with little pool - for a future visit in warmer months!

This was a bit of luck booking as we had seen good reviews but really couldn’t see much online about the area so just hoped for the best. Well we lucked out! Madame Lydia treated us like family from the moment we arrived. This property is just off the small sq of Montreuil which is a walled town (Citadel) we booked 2 nights in the suite which was beautifully decorated, comfortable and has a beautiful bathroom (Shower needs a hook). The whole house has been beautifully renovated. Every corner you turn there is something beautiful to look at. The communal lounge is inviting and cosy. Madame Lydia made cakes for us which we could help ourselves to in a small kitchenette with teas and coffee at anytime. Breakfast was divine…fruits salad to start, coffee, tea, platters of meat and cheese, pastries, breads, cereal and then on day 1 we had smoked salmon and day 2 beautiful eggs. Madame Lydia takes great care In what she offers and is so helpful, she helped us choose dinner each night, Darnetal was fabulous - Classic French Tavern serving good French food. On the 2nd night we went to Le Grand’place cafe which is a good experience. It’s owned by Michelin Star Chef Alexandre Gauthier. The food is outstanding, relaxed atmosphere and a real food experience. Both places are a must if you’re here. The town is full of great shops, cafes, patisseries, antique shops, clothes, chocolates shops and more. The Saturday food market was also great. Maison 76 is in a fab location and not having to drive to a restaurant was a huge bonus for a 2 night stay. Check out The Times review of Montreuil.
