Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This hotel was the perfect stay for our group of three couples for one night. It was clean, comfortable, and close to the free shuttle and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and included eggs, hard to find in France.

BelgiumWe had some troubles with the breakfast. Since we joined late morning there was no more food. Which it is a pity. The staff should properly estimate the amount of food in function of the number of guests. However, we were reimbursed for the breakfast (available also elsewhere)
The position was extremely perfect! Great comfort and clean room! We could enjoy Le Mont Saint Michel at every hour of the day while having the freedom to move around in the complex and have great food in one of the restaurants inside the complex of hotels/restaurants

United StatesThis place is just impossible to find. We got stuck at the gate to enter the village. Car after car was piled up all getting stuck at the gate and not knowing what to do, having to back out. It was a nightmare before someone finally realized we all had codes in French in an email sent two months ago when we first booked. It took us 30 minutes and driving around and around in circles to get through the gate to even enter the village. We needed to have much more warning about this. Then, it was dark when we arrived, and the hotel signage had NO LIGHTING at all. We drove up and down the street multiple times and could not find the hotel. We then called the number provided and a man who spoke very poor English and could not understand us was very unhelpful. We kept repeating over and over that we were already through the gate, we repeated over and over where we were and he could not give us any information or even answer any of our actual questions. And then...he said, "Goodbye, have a good evening" and hung up on us. We had to stop at a restaurant to ask where the hotel was. Their sign does have the capability to be lit so I'd strongly suggest they fix it if it's not on because it's broken.
The proximity to the Abbey and the free bus was great. We were allowed to leave our car at the hotel while we went to the Abbey the day after our stay. Clean and simple room.

NetherlandsIt wasn’t clear upon arrival that you’ve to pay 10€ each time you leave the property. There was a lack of information while checking in because no one was there and they didn’t leave a information sheet in the room. Also the facilities on the property (restaurants) were closed early and the quality of the restaurant isn’t the best. When you want to go have dinner outside the property, you have to pay the 10€ to leave the property
Close to mt saint michel, easy to get there with the shuttle

TaiwanThe room smell bad. Even it’s a little bit raining, the room is still a little bit hot, so I have to open the window a little bit. I wouldn’t open too much, because I worry some mosquitoes or insects flies into the room. I stay at level 0 room.
I arrived around 13:50. Receptionist lady allowed earlier check in without extra charging. The location is close to free bus station and Mont Saint Michel.

United StatesThe hotel is very simple and the rooms too small. The bathroom is tiny. It is expensive for this type of room. The staff is around only part of the day. They are nice, but they aren’t there when you need them. They disappeared at 7 and left no phone number in case of emergency. Nobody there to answer questions or provide suggestions. Also, the hotel has nothing in the way of food or drink. Not even ice. No glasses, just paper cups. No coffee machine. Not even a plastic spoon. No refrigerator. Since food is expensive and there is only one shop in town, a fridge in the room would make sense.
The location near Mt St Michel. Beds were comfortable. Ample parking.
