We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesThis was November, and the only way to cool our room down was to open a window, which allowed street noise in along with the cool air. (Our experience is that hotels typically prohibit Air Conditioning from being turned on in the winter months, and this one was no exception.) We were a bit disappointed that our reserved parking spot required us to move the car by noon (same as check out time of the room.) The alternative public parking option ("Perrache") suggested by the front desk staff was a bit intimidating, and we chose not to attempt parking in that multi-purpose facility. Bottom line: for us, it was challenging to drive and park in the dense area around the hotel.
The hotel was in a good location for walking around the heart of Lyon. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The lobby was attractive. We reserved a parking spot (for additional cost) which was extremely valuable since we arrived around midnight, and parking on the street was challenging.

SwitzerlandThe bathroom was very small (ca 2 square metres) and basically a plastic box mounted in a corner. Everything worked fine, but the complete floor was wet after taking a shower. Although on a relatively quiet street, there was quite a bit of traffic noise early in the morning from delivery and refuse trucks.
Staff were very helpful. I asked for restaurant recommendations and received a handwritten list of 4 or 5 establishments. The top one was one I had seen myself when googling. I went there and was very satisfied (except I ate too much). The location of the hotel was also good, being close to railway station and pedestrian precinct. There was also a good breakfast served from 6 am, which suited me perfectly to catch an early train.

This was a great and affordable place to stay. I was travelling with my mom (senior) and aunt (late 50's). They don't require extravagant accommodations, but do have very high expectations of cleanliness and being in a safe location- Hotel Simplon checked both boxes. It was nice that it had a little bit of character too. The staff were friendly and I will be recommending this hotel to friends who are travelling to Lyon.
