Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenYou are at the mercy of the fellow guests because the house has no soundproofing.
Nice house. Central location, but quiet street with free parking. Can't really complain about anything for this price which was really-really exceptional.

United KingdomThe street is quite narrow and can be challenging to park. There's like 50-cm sidewalk on both sides, so quite tight. The building and the flat is quite old, but it didn't affect our stay.
Very close to restaurants, Lidl or chemist. 5-min drive to the motorway. Larger supermarkets and city centre within 5-10 min drive. Great communication with the host.

United KingdomParking tight on street - but ok. People were hanging around on the street until past midnight and possibly dealing drugs, but to be fair, they were quiet and left us and our vehicle alone.
Easy to find. Lock box to collect key with message from host on how to enter. Center of town, very close to Boulangerie for breakfast. Little kitchen made breakfast and coffee easy. Double bed good. Sofa bed ok for 1

United KingdomWe have stayed here before but this time we were on the first floor, a small but comfortable studio Managed to find a parking space right outside the door. Found Le Balto bar just over the railway bridge, open on a Sunday with very reasonably priced Stella beer (Beer in restaurants in the main square is considerably more expensive).

United KingdomStayed in flat 4. You have to climb up a couple of rather narrow sets of stairs, reminiscent of ones you may encounter in Dutch houses, but this also adds to the charm of the place. But bear in mind if you have small children with a lot of things to carry.
Nice and very affordable small maisonette flat in St Quentin, on the motorway from Calais to Reims. In a quiet side street but not far from the centre of the city and the railway station, with free on-street parking and easy access. Great communication from the property management with all the necessary details to access the place in advance.

SwitzerlandWe stayed 2 nights here in 2 different apartments. The 2nd was better because it had more sunlight. Value for money was fantastic, no problem with access. The WiFi was very good and the bed comfortable. A small problem with cleanliness in the kitchen the first night, but altogether a good stay. We'll come back.

AustraliaSteep staircase to climb. Busy lane to park in. Someone parked against us leaving a dint in our hire car. Security shutters dont open, just 20%. Could do with a bit more air. Neighbours outside window were noisy. Also at 3am. Had a coffee machine but only supplied hot chocolate pods.
Great. Tidy little room. All you need. Comfy bed. Kitchen was great. Lidl supermarket was 500mts away. So can cook a dinner. Netflix and youtube on tv., once you figured out how to change the language from Korean was great. (Google translate is the best!) Parking in the lane out the front. Great communication from host. Clear directions.

United KingdomA comfortable little apartment with its front door on the first floor and stairs from there up to the second floor landing where the kitchenette is situated (all the basics to prepare a simple meal are there) and access to the small sitting/dining area bedroom and bathroom. One word of caution: there are some sloping areas of ceiling, notably at the bottom end of the bed and, in particular at the bend in the staircase near the top - awkward if carrying bulky suitcases! Parking is on the street outside (we had no problem finding a space in the early evening mid-week) and the WiFi is very good! There are bars within walking distance and a "chippy" (friterie) about 100 metres down the road.
