Stunning hotel, fabulous location, and super friendly staff!

I just had foot surgery, and it would have been great to know that the bathroom was located in the loft. The room was certainly very unique, and the shower was wonderful. Going up and down with a painful foot was not so great.

Breakfast was plentiful. A wonderful selection of breads and croissants. We enjoyed your coffee machine brewing some beautiful selections. My only complaint is that the warm food items were pretty much cold or lukewarm, and we had breakfast at 7 AM.

We have no complaints. We did not have the breakfast so I cannot comment on that.

We loved the hotel, location and the amazing old town Colmar. The rooms were comfortable and clean, no complaints there. We were close to everything we wanted to see. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Nice garage facilities for our rented car and was very close to where we stayed. We loved everything about Colmar and our stay.

A bathtub to take a soak in would be nice. Shower area was plenty big.

Our suite had a bit of a funky layout that we enjoyed. Bathroom was separated from bedroom by a living area, so bedroom was very quiet and comfortable. Staff was exceptional and helped us out with dinner reservations, dining alternatives and arranging cab. Entry to suite area was on a quiet walkway that led straight to petite canal. Hotel location was handy to where we wanted to go and was in a nice quiet area.

The room that we originally booked, The Double Suite, was not what we expected. First, the address, 11 Rue de la Poissonnerie, is the bulding adjacent to the Hotel Le Colombier and is in an alley/street between the two buldings with no access to the hotel desk unless one figures out that you need to push a buzzer and try to get someone to answer it. A much better way is to go to 7 rue Turenne, the main street over and main entrance to the hotel. The Le Colombier Suites is in a bulding behind the main hotel, the Hotel Le Colombier. There is not direct access to the Le Colombier Suites by car. The Suites building has no elevator and the suite that we were assigned was up one narrow flight of stairs. We immediately realized that the Suite was not to our liking and asked to be given a room in the main bulding.

After getting the Hotel to change our room from the Double Suite to a room in the main bulding, we were very happy. Room 301 was spacious and bright. Kudos to the front desk for accomodating our request. It faced Rue Turenne and got plenty of sun and light. The room was very large with a seperate foyer and bathroom. The bed was a bit too firm for our comfort, but otherwise our stay was very nice.

The room was spotless, the location was great for walking and easy getting in and out of town by car. The staff was friendly and eager to be of service.

Pay attention to the property’s notice that there isn’t a lift in the suites building. Our room was at the very top of the building, which wasn’t a problem since we’re in good health, but it’s something that others may want to think about. Also, be aware that at least in our room, the toilet and shower were enclosed in frosted glass. Luckily, we’ve been married for decades.

An ideal location for exploring Colmar. They have a few parking spots and luckily we were able to snag one. The entire property, including the garage (!) is tastefully designed and comfortable.

Nothing really. For older people the 3 stairs up might be an issue,so ask for lower floors 😉
