Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaWhile booking you will not find the proviso 'booking must be done at least previous day' -- but it must be done at least previous day.
This place feels historically rich and really treated with respect, everything has been taken care of. Hosts are really courteous and patient with your missing French. Because of our mistake with booking we did not expect the room with breakfast but had luxurious breakfast nevertheless :) We felt very well treated, thank You!

AustraliaYou need a car to stay here as it is in a rural area
This is a gorgeous property with friendly hosts if you are looking for a rural France experience. It is located about 20 kilometres - a 10-30 minute drive - from the 16th century city of Troyes which is well worth a visit. A traditional French breakfast is provided of local cheeses, preserved meats, bread and croissants. The Chateau is very historic and the guest rooms are beautiful. There is a local restaurant about 2 kilometres away that serves dinner or you can bring provisions for a cold evening meal to have in your room. We were really glad to have stayed at the Chateau as it is beautiful and a welcome change from always being in cities.

The most charming, 16th century chateau in a perfect location for stopping half way through France. Nearby to the beautiful mediaeval city of Troyes, worth a visit in itself and where there are lots of great places to eat. Huge bedroom with beautiful antique furniture, wooden beams and a fantastic breakfast with the freshest croissants, bread, meats and cheese - and the most charming hosts. Highly recommended and fantastic value.

United KingdomThis is an exceptional accommodation. The owners have taken great care over every detail in their renovation of this beautiful 16th Century chateau. Rooms are elegant and spacious and the welcome from the hosts is warm and generous. We were served a delicious breakfast, at which the hosts took time to chat amiably - and patiently and with good humour, given our terrible French; thankfully they had a useful translation app. This is definitely one we would visit again.

Beautiful Château which the owners have been renovating for 16years. The room was stunning and beautiful views over the château and beyond. Plenty safe parking. The 16th century staircase to the room is beautiful! We knew there was no facility for an evening meal so we ate during our travels in the day and brought some snacks and drinks for our evening stay and had a lovely evening in the gorgeous bedroom. Comfortable bed, very quiet and had a good night sleep. The bathroom has a half size bath with a shower head so it was a little odd to use but looks very pretty. Breakfast was in a beautiful renovated room and the hosts were very attentive, chatting to us and were very tolerant of our French. Breakfast was bread, croissants, cheeses, meats, yogurt. It was all very lovely. As we were passing through we did not explore the surrounding area but would definitely stay again and would recommend

NetherlandsThe only thing we might have liked extra would have been the possibility to lock the door of our room from the outside as well. Besides that, we had a very lovely stay in the chateau.
We were super warmly welcomed; they are incredible friendly, nice and hospitable people. The room was adorable and the breakfast very good! There was a bit of a language barrier but google translate conversation helped out perfectly!

United KingdomAbsolutely fabulous stay in incredible surroundings, we booked two rooms and had the place to ourselves. The rooms are sumptuous, befitting the ambience of the chateau. Breakfast was taken with charming and hilarious hosts. What a great experience. Also close to Troyes which is a pretty town with a variety of great places to eat.

This was our fourth stay, as an indulgent overnight stop on a long journey. We love the peaceful location, the elegant and comfortable beamed rooms (and even the ancient wooden stairs to reach them), and the wonderful breakfasts at a large round table in the beautiful barn, often joined by the hospitable owners.

United KingdomIt was perfect!
Wow, what a great find. The chateau currently has just two rooms, but what incredible rooms they are. Beautifully renovated, stunning furnishings, could have been plucked from stately homes! The canopy bed was huge and the thick walls were a godsend on some very hot days. The room was huge. The hosts were brilliant - very attentive, and sat with us chatting throughout breakfast.

United Kingdomnothing not to like. Monsieur and Madame do not offer dinner. we ate in nearby Aix en Othe at le resto d’Evanne - a crêperie offering savoury galettes, salads and steaks. a simple offering in a simple uninspiring room. Good cider. If you want something more lavish then nearby Troyes has endless choice
lovely 16c moated fortified manor/ farmhouse which the owner has been lovingly restoring over the last 15 years . Our room was one of the two guest rooms . Ours was on the third floor accessed by the beautiful 16c wooden staircase so you do need to be able to cope with carrying your bags and yourself up. It was tastefully furnished with old furniture. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well equipped The bath was elegant but only half size. excellent breakfast: croissants, bread, home made jam, fruit juice and fruit and yoghurt. Cheese and charcuterie was offered but we declined this. Charming hosts who chatted to us ( in French) over breakfast.
