Our room was quite small but this was because I only booked it a few days before and it was the last one available.

Pretty, small chateau with relaxing grounds and pool. Owner was very friendly and accommodating. Lovely breakfast in the garden the following morning. We had one of the best meals of our holiday at the restaurant around the corner which the owner had thoughtfully booked for us.

The tub/shower combo curtain needed changing. Pool is very nice but cloudy the evening we used it. The restaurant the reception books is excellent.(on site is breakfast only) Just FYI. DD needed. It's an excellent gourmet place for dinner but it's a 20 minute through the countryside. Reception said taxi is very expensive and 2 couples cannot share.

The property is lovely. The PROS FAR outweigh the cons

We hadn't spotted their restaurant was closed.... seemingly for a long time... so we had to drive out to eat, which wasn't ideal after a long driving day ! Seems to be run by the owner on his own and it shows.... looked like maybe 2 other couples stayed at the same time, so how this pays I have no idea.

This was a last minute find as the hotel we booked was closed due to flooding... Location was ok as a stopover... fairly easy access to major roads, and good secure parking

This property has no restaurant and has no facility for serving food outside of the help yourself breakfast. It would appear that this has been the case for a number of years. There are good places to eat a short drive away but the lack of restaurant service at the hotel is something to consider before you book the rather expensive rooms. The owner seems to be running the hotel single handed and unfortunately this means that getting a drink in the Evenings is not possible as there are no other staff to provide any service. You will be given keys to the Hotel as it is often locked due to no staff so you can let yourself in. At some point in the past this Hotel has obviously been at a good standard and hence it’s Michelin Guide entry, however it is now more comparable with a glamorous Travel Lodge.

Historic building which has been renovated to a good standard.

we have experienced that the owner is inhospitable and uninterested in his guests. we tried to get in touch as we were very impressed with the castle but nothing was addressed. we felt very uncomfortable with this. at checkout we had to pay €32 for a 0.375 liter bottle of Macon wine and costs were charged for the Spa, while this was not announced anywhere. We complained about the Spa charges and they were eventually credited. the restaurant was closed, which was not stated on the site, we were directed to a terrible restaurant 3 km away. there is nothing to do or experience in the town itself. the rooms in the hotel are good but dated, our pillowcase was stained. this hotel does not deserve an 8.2 as a rating in our opinion. with regard to the Spa and the restaurant it is important to be transparent and to mention opening times and costs. With a little more passion and hospitality this could become a very nice hotel.

No restaurant although claims to have one

Hotel should make it clear on Booking.Com that the restaurant is CLOSED and as been for over a YEAR This is not a COVID issue and the hotel is in the middle of no where. Customers are booking thinking that there is a restaurant and only finding out when they get there IT IS CLOSED It’s NOT FAIR and bordering on a ‘Trading Standards issue Please change the description on your website

All was wonderful. The host was charming and made the extra effort to find us lovely places to have dinner. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was very good and more personal than a general hotel breakfast. It was a very enjoyable stay.
