Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI did not have breakfast at this hotel, so I cannot comment. The hotel is closed in the evening and there is no attendant. Normally, there should be a staff member at the reception 24 hours a day. This is my understanding of hotels. The hotel is very clean, quiet and very positive in this sense. But what is missing is no glass, no kettle, no water to drink. The worst part is that after 7 pm, all markets are closed and it is very difficult to find anything to eat or drink. If a place is called a hotel, it should at least have tea, coffee, and drinking water service. In this sense, the person staying there feels alone and unable to find food and drink. If your goal is to go to sleep immediately and leave the hotel as soon as you wake up, no problem, it's perfect. No matter what, a person staying in a hotel cannot be left alone in this city. I think they should change the name and remove the word hotel.

PortugalWe were there for a quick overnight stay and it served its purpose. There's a boulangerie and a diner across the street which we found convenient.

NetherlandsAutomated check in with a screen did not work one bit. Had to phone the staff and they gave us the codes for the rooms. Was a bit of a hassle late at night which we did not need.
Easy to find place with ample parking. Rooms not really big but clean. An awesome croissanterie with great coffee nearby! Will use again before taking the ferry.

United KingdomThe room was clean but smelled of stale smoke despite the no smoking signs around.
The location is conveniently close to the channel tunnel. There are a number of food outlets very close by (boulangerie, McDonald's, diner). The self check in was straightforward. The room was compact but functional with a good shower and opening window.

United KingdomThis last time our reservation code did not work and although we arrived at a time that, according to the hotel description, front desk should be open, it wasn't. We rang the bell and got the details, but it was a bit stressful.
This was our third stay. We usually book this hotel for an overnight stay when we take an evening ferry into Calais. Its quick, easy, simple and convenient. The room is not big, but enough for our family of 4, good wifi, which is important for the children and free parking.

MontenegroEverything was as described.
The room was clean and in accordance with the description. We had a room on the second floor, everything was as good. Checking was through the machine in front of the main entrance, and the machine became functional after 14 h, when the check-in was foreseen. We didn't use the restaurant in the morning, so I couldn't say anything about breakfast.

United KingdomBreakfast was too expensive. Coffee vendor machine was out of order and as there are no Coffee or tea in the room it would have been nice if one was able to buy a coffee.
The location was for me very good as I stayed overnight to catch the morning ferry. The parking was excellent and plenty of parking space.

United KingdomGreat stop off for the tunnel, the room was small but clean, comfortable and everything you need for 1 night. It was self check in as between 3 and 5pm reception is shut but it was really easy to do. There's a bakery and a fantastic American diner across the road too. Would stay here again when we are using the tunnel.

FranceNot really a disadvantage, but as for most such hotels, the area around consists mostly of car centers and gas stations, not something you'd like to spend a lot of time at. It is good for an overnight drive-in stop, but I would definitely not recommend it if you plan to spend some time in Calais.
Typical B&B, right place for an overnight stop if you drive through A16 or taking a ferry and need a stop. Clean, comfy, good value for mony, free parking, 24/7 automatic check-in. The guy at the reception was very gentle and helpful. The buffet breakfast was rather good for a cheap French hotel (which is usually not the case). Not a five-star restaurant but decent choice of things, including omlette and fried beacon (for those who prefer), not only croissants — definitely worth its price if you need to eat in the morning without wasting time.
