How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Breakfast was too expensive. Coffee vendor machine was out of order and as there are no Coffee or tea in the room it would have been nice if one was able to buy a coffee.
The location was for me very good as I stayed overnight to catch the morning ferry. The parking was excellent and plenty of parking space.

The room isn't very spacious but was absolutely enough for us staying one night before catching the ferry.
The location was so convenient. We arrived at 11pm and the self check in was so great and easy to use. The room was clean and comfortable.

Great stop off for the tunnel, the room was small but clean, comfortable and everything you need for 1 night. It was self check in as between 3 and 5pm reception is shut but it was really easy to do. There's a bakery and a fantastic American diner across the road too. Would stay here again when we are using the tunnel.

Not have the facility to make a cup of coffee in the room and only one small pillow.
Good parking facilities, close proximity to places to have an inexpensive meal and an excellent sound proofing right in front of a busy roundabout.

Not really a disadvantage, but as for most such hotels, the area around consists mostly of car centers and gas stations, not something you'd like to spend a lot of time at. It is good for an overnight drive-in stop, but I would definitely not recommend it if you plan to spend some time in Calais.
Typical B&B, right place for an overnight stop if you drive through A16 or taking a ferry and need a stop. Clean, comfy, good value for mony, free parking, 24/7 automatic check-in. The guy at the reception was very gentle and helpful. The buffet breakfast was rather good for a cheap French hotel (which is usually not the case). Not a five-star restaurant but decent choice of things, including omlette and fried beacon (for those who prefer), not only croissants — definitely worth its price if you need to eat in the morning without wasting time.

There was no contactless pay, no instructions via email or number or booking on how to enter the hotel (I had imagined an in person 24/7 reception)

We had a lovely room and our bicycles were stored safely which was a great help for us. The staff were very helpful and gave good advice on local eateries. The hotel and facilities are spotlessly clean and it was good value for money.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like.
After arriving at a previously booked hotel, to be told to come back in 3 hrs was not acceptable. Looked up somewhere else and found this hotel. Within two minutes of making my booking on here, I was booked in with my 3 small dogs. For an overnight stay waiting on ferry, it was perfect. Even though it is situated in the industrial estate, there was no noise disturbance. The bed was perfectly comfortable. The room was basic but clean and adequate.

Parking stops to narrow. There was no kettle for a little night tea.
