Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThere was no overhead shower, only a handheld unit making showering a bit of a challenge. Bring your own shampoo. The shower just has soap.
Welcoming staff and very clean rooms. We had a great sleep, comfortable beds and the blackout blinds worked really well. It was a treat to see the sheep go by as they headed to pasture.

NetherlandsIt is not an auberge, it does not have a restaurant. It is more like a motel, with room access only from outside. The AC didn't work.
In the morning the sheep passed, which was a great fun! A lot of bleating and sheep running in front of the window. Great location for walking towards Mont-Saint-Michel through the fields (where the sheep went to graze). Comfortable hotel with free parking space for the car.

United StatesIt was not plain that there was NO public transport AT ALL. I thought I could use uber or taxi, and I could not. Also the site said it was within 1.5 K of Mont St Michel and it was 3 K. It was almost 2K to get to a shuttle bus, and you had to walk on part of a busy hwy, with no walking area.
It was quiet and peaceful.

Location, we could park our car and walk to Mont Saint Michel. It is a 20 minute walk to the free shuttle, or 50 minute walk overall. The room was simple, but sparkly clean and spacious. Breakfast was ok.

United StatesThe hotel was not serving dinner, so if you are not driving it’s a long walk to restaurants
Good location; excellent view of Mont St Michel: 1 hour walk to the Mont thru a well marked sheep field and then to a paved road (you can catch the bus to Mont at the intersection of the sheep field and the road - 30 minutes from there); a really nice, helpful staff; they do serve breakfast

FranceNot many food options. It could be difficult if you don't have a car..
The place is amazingly well located and so convenient.. The direct walk to Mont Saint-Michel is a bit adventurous through the cheptel, but a way better than walking to the free shuttle service, which is also an option. The staff is very welcoming and nice. The view of Mont Saint-Michel close to the hotel is breathtaking.

FranceIf you're not with a car the location might be a problem. You have to walk a lot until the bus stop that goes to Mont St Michel.
It was a surprise considering the price. We were not expecting so much, but the room was very comfortable. It was very hot on the day so we could enjoy a nice A/C and cold bath.

MalaysiaNothing, overall I like the hotel. However, it's better close all the windows to avoid insects from coming into the room at night because the big grassland is just opposite to the hotel.
The hotel is very simple and very clean. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly indeed. We watched the sheeps coming out in the morning. We enjoy seeing Mont Saint Michel from faraway. The walking distance to Mont Saint Michel is about 1.5km which will take about 20 minutes to reach the shuttle bus station.

ItalyThe path from the reception to our room was outside including the stairs to go to the first floor, and they were wet so uncomfortable with our luggage.
The structure was a good place to visit Mont Saint-Michel, you can park there and take a nice walk through the fields toward the island. The host was kind and helpful with our needs. The apartment had two bedrooms with very comfortable beds and a good bathroom. The breakfast was good, and the dining room had a nice view on the street. There was a very large private parking.

AustraliaWe didn’t know until we had paid for it what their restaurant was not operational this year. That meant we had to walk in to town to have dinner, or else pay exorbitant parking for the evening.
It was clean, good value for money at short notice and a 2km walk across the paddock to Mont St Michel.
