We only stayed here for one night before flying back home from Lisbon. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The check-in process went smoothly. The room was located right behind the reception, so all the traffic from the reception area could be heard inside. Even at night, we could hear when someone came or left. To be fair, I must add that after booking a ground floor room, I received a message saying it was close to the reception and if I wanted a quieter room, I should book the Deluxe or Double/Twin room. Despite this, I didn't expect it to be so bad, right behind the reception in a location that, in my humble opinion, is not suitable as an accommodation space. The second inconvenience was the hot water, which took eight minutes to come on in the shower. Otherwise, the hotel has a very nice rooftop area. Overall, I would recommend the accommodation, but definitely choose a different room.

The location is excellent - 3 mins walk from Avenida tube station and very handy for Avenida de Liberdade where all the walking tours meet. Also, then, a short walk to all the main attractions - the castle is opposite, the river is down the hill through the shopping/eating area, etc. If you go left out of the hotel and go up the hill, you will find even more restaurants and a lovely viewpoint over the city with a bar. Beautiful. The hotel staff are lovely and the highlight of the place. The Brooklyn cafe below does great breakfasts and lunch and there is a little booth that sells pastries and beer in the lovely little square.

It is very noisy and quite run down. The bedroom was a good size and okay but the bathroom has many cracked tiles, the shower is a tray with a curtain and the water temperature varies hugely if you flush the toilet or wash your hands while someone is showering. The bedrooms overlook the busy side street or square and there is a lot of street noise at all hours. The room we were in came off the central staircase with paper thin doors so we were woken at all hours be ignorant, inconsiderate people laughing and chatting as they thumped up them. If you are a light sleeper, I would avoid it. If not, it's in a great location.

Brilliant stay, rooms, warm pool, common area, shared kitchen and fabulous garden. We loved this house, plus the breakfast was something extra as well, nice touch, feels like a boutique hotel with only few people around. Great

2 things - the warm breakfast buffet was never really warm; the pool needs 2 people to cover/uncover it, it used also way too many chemicals to treat the water.

We like that the hotel, is located so close to everything while not being too loud! The staff and restaurants down stairs are all good and the cleaning staff were excellent
Negative section of review
It was noisy one night but that was not the hotels fault and is just because of the volume of people passing at night The fact that it was 2 single beds put together even though we are a couple was annoying

the air conditioning did not work and our room was very very hot. they brought us a fan but it didn't work so we gave up -at least they tried. breakfast in the morning was a bit chaotic and there was not that much left when we went down.
