How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We could hear conversations in the hallway that woke us up at night. The restaurant downstairs is not best.
The hotel’s location is great and they have shutter service 24/7. The room was also very clean

It was difficult to locate the hotel and instructions on their website were non existent. When I eventually discovered the route it was a long and desolate walk.
Check in was quick. Room was as expected in an airport hotel.

staff didn’t speak English, no one replied to my 2 emails after I booked, so my questions were left without answers, very poor customer service! the hotel is located in a ghost terminal and you have to walk a good 10 minutes but that’s ok. no windows in room as the hotel is within the airport terminal.

Hotel could do with a refurbishment, but everything was clean. Not well signposted from international arrivals, so you have to head to Terminal 1 and it is on the 3rd Floor.
Convenient to have a hotel in the Airport, especially as our flight arrived in the evening and we were travelling onto another destination the following day.

It is far from the terminal for a walk through a closed part of the airport, even out of the building.
When asked, the receptionist answered that there was a complimentary shuttle service to the terminal very early next morning (still dark).

The place seems to have been renovated from older times, but the doors are fidgety and difficult to open sometimes. In addition the soundproofing for the rooms is lacking. You can easily hear all the noise from outside when people are passing.
The staff were wonderful and supportive. They helped us resolve issues in a timely manner.

Unfortunately, the breakfast begins only at 6am. This is ok, but it would be wonderful to have something earlier.
Hotel inside terminal 1 in Rio Galeão airport. It is not fancy, but it is comfortable, clean and convenient. I was arriving from a long flight and need to catch a very early flight the next morning and this was just what I needed. I was able to rest before my next flight.

There was no signs on Terminal 2 (international arrivals) showing where to go. From the overhead signs, wall signs and the elevators, you're left guessing if there actually is a hotel anywhere at the airport. The check-in was easy and pleasant. However, even with an occupancy rate bellow 30%, we're given a no-window room. I can not tell if there was any room with windows or not, but be aware of that if you're claustrophobic. The breakfast was good and everything was fresh and tasty.

The hotel is conveniently located in the airport. This is an ideal location if you need to sleep before a flight, or arrive very late. The room is fine, and the breakfast is simple but adequate if you are traveling.

The airconditioning was stuck on 26 and being a windowless room it got very stuffy. the hair dryer also didnt work.
Staff were friendly and breakfast was good. Quicker to walk than wait for the hotel shuttle which has to drive a big loop to get back to the hotel. room was clean and spacious. The rooms are windowless which means you cant hear any plane noise.

The room and bed are comfortable and the location is very convenient for those who have to spend the night in the airport. It is a bit pricey, but I think it is worth it. Staff are friendly and breakfast is good.
