My room was overdue for a makeover

This is a charming and characterful hotel in an old building right in the centre of the old town. The reception staff were particularly helpful in making recommendations of places to eat and arranging transport. The rooms are around the attractive mature garden, mine was small and without a view but I was there at a weekend and appreciated the distance from the street noise outside. A good breakfast is provided overlooking the garden.

A quaint old building right in the historic part of Olinda. Walk out, turn left and it's all right there! The room was lovely, the pool, the breakfast. We stayed an extra night. We appreciated the motorbike parking. Oh, and there were monkeys!

Rooms could be improved with mosquito prevention , as some room windows have no netting over windows, or openings allow any insects in.

The only thing I could think of improving was reducing the gaps in bedroom windows and openings with screens to keep mosquitoes out . Also a wider choice evening meals, although there are some good restaurants nearby,

The Staff were fantastic and helpful, from all reception to kitchen to the excellent smiling tall Gateman and server ‘Forte’ to Erica on reception. The superb breakfast choice and happy breakfast team were brilliant each morning . The Omelettes they made were delicious ! The swimming pool and characterful/ historic hotel was a great choice , and essential if you are to enjoy the carnival or a peaceful holiday in town , due to it being at the centre of everything ! PS Great ‘Forte’ Caiprinhas too!

Great breakfast. Beautiful hotel, with lots of plants and tables/chairs in the common area. Localization is very good, next to bars and restaurants, and walking distance to a couple of tourist spots.

The Pousada is beautiful, absolutely beautiful and so well maintained with everything so well looked after. The staff were outstanding and gave us excellent tips of places to eat and see. Thank for a wonderful stay. We will return!

Being situated in the heart of Olinda means that you are plunged into the middle of a party - whether you like it or not! Personally, it was no problem to be surrounded by loud music and drunk people on the weekend. A little taste of Carnaval, if you like. However, when the loud music continues on Monday and Tuesday, late into the night, this was a bit too much. This is no fault of the Pousada of course, but it did affect our stay as my family did not sleep well, due to the noise. The rooms at the front of the Pousada face the street so there is also a lot of traffic noise, loud, drunk people passing by etc. So, don't expect to get a good night's sleep. My only other moan was that the pousada didn't make drinking water available for the guests, which seems miserly and unsustainable, as you are forced to buy lots of small plastic bottles of water.

Myself and my family really enjoyed our stay at Pousada Quatro Cantos. The pousada is a beautiful period building which has been tastefully renovated. There was a nice pool for splashing around with the kids, and a lovely shaded courtyard for relaxing with a drink. Fantastic breakfast and decent food on the menu. The Pousada is situated right in the heart of Olinda - which is both a blessing and a curse.

The beautiful building, the decoration, and the location. Perfect place to explore Olinda as Toni’s in the center of where everything happens. The breakfast is super delicious with all the typical plates and a lot of fruits. Staff very friendly.

This did not affect me, but the hotel has lots of stairs. People who need disability access or have trouble with many stairs may have difficulty here.

Lovely and helpful staff, convenient restaurant with quality food, gorgeous patio that was a delight to sit on in the evenings. Wonderful ambiance that really gives the flavor of Olinda. A++

Lovely, large pousada in about as central location in Olinda as you can ask for. Bars, restaurants and festivities literally on the doorstep. It's an official camarote during carnival so don't expect much peace and quiet then! Vanessa on the front desk couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome right from arrival. Also assisted in organising a reasonable all-day taxi for a daytrip to Porto Galinhas. The food on site was decent, we had both breakfast and dinners there on occasion. Good caipirinhas too. The veranda is a lovely place to take in the evening before heading out.
