How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

You have to pay to use the hostel the day after check out. It’s not really a social hostel, more for people coming and going plus working.
Great location - just around the corner from the beach and in a safe area! The staff are friendly, plus check in and out were easy! The rooms are decent with AC! The chill areas are really nice with hammocks and a small pool! Breakfast is served in the morning and there is free coffee all day! They have home office facilities plus a laundry.

The beds are not so comfy.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. The place is clean and quite decent for a hostel.

The kitchen is not kept very tidy Some forms with no AC (check well before you book!) Towels for extra charge.(it wasn't much)

A bit noisy if you don't have a private room. The pool was dirty and it wasn't possible to use it. They charged us for keeping our bags for the day.
Great friendly accommodation. We had a private room and it was nice. Free breakfast was provided! The location was good. Close to the beach and the center. Many cheap restaurants nearby.

The triple bunk bed in some rooms may be a little uncomfortable for some people, though the mattress and pillow were really good.
Nice staff, space for working, good breakfast for the bed price, some social areas (maybe they could get more hammocks or sofas for more interaction with other backpackers)

Parts of the hostel are clean, parts are not ok. No one spoke English or any other language by side Portuguese and Espanol
Great Location. The breakfast is a toast with cheese and ham. But for that price nothing more you need to expect. Nice they offer that.

The staff seemed somewhat confused about what to do, a little unprepared and did not communicate very well. I believe they were tourists themselves exchanging work for stay (at least it looked that way). Nothing really of a deal breaker, though.
The place is quite alright for a few nights' stay. Location is amazing and very close to a beautiful beach (improper for swimming, though).

Staff was friendly but couldn't speak English at all
Nice hostel, close to the beach. -I was traveling alone and felt safe in the area -I changed the room to the female dorm which had an AC and I was very happy with it. -Curtains on the bed provide some privacy -Bathroom and toilets are clean -Big lockers in the room so I could store my luggage there. But there are additional lockers close to the reception in case you need more space

Not a great hostel vibe, pretty flat. Staff weren’t particularly welcoming, we didn’t feel like we could ask for help/ recommendations. Breakfast was very basic and served on plastic trays like at a school canteen - not much choice or fresh fruit. The pool in the garden was very cloudy and smelled very chemically, didn’t want to use it.
Private room was big, secure, had good WiFi and air con. The courtyard area was nice and there was useful information about trips & tours etc in reception.

The kitchen was very dirty, the dish cloth wasn't changed and was not something you would want to wipe dishes on let alone dry hands. Only one hob for everyone to share The kitchen just felt so dirty I didn't feel comfortable in there. Breakfast wasn't great , had to pay to store luggage after check out. Not all staff were friendly. The pool was not inviting, not clean looking.
We had a private room here with good air con. Hammocks were nice outside room. Was in a good location.
