How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room with the Sauna was a really nice touch, the design at this location is far superior to the other 5

Playabach allows many people outside the hotel. They have the same entrance through the lobby, and you don’t feel like it’s your hotel! Management should minimize the number of people who utilize the pool. You don’t feel the luxury when you see this type of people and how they behave!

It is not that I don't like but a small thing regarding the Cielo restaurant for breakfast. It is a bit small and not as luxurious as the hotel feels but that hasn't bothered me at all.
My stay met my expectations and the entire experience was great. Although check in was delayed by an hour, I was offered half board as compensation. I have to say the staff were great but a especial thanks goes to Amani, she was absolutely great and helpful. The suite was very spacious. The rooms are soundproof indeed, although this is not mentioned in the room specs in Booking.com. The pool was great with good number of beds. Location was great in the vibrant JBR, however JBR area is usually busy via car. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

As it’s a soft opening, there’re some minor issues: one socket was not working, one of the two water taps in the shower had a strange angled closed position - but it’s understandable with a soft opening. Mind that construction is still going on - but I knew it in advance and was ready for that. As for location - it’s a standard issue with JBR and Marina (not only Five Luxe): staring 4:30 pm to 1-1:30 am (especially Fridays and Saturdays) the traffic is a nightmare. It takes a lot of time to drive in or out. But if you go for a walk - it’s ok. Breakfast is good, but a limited choice for my taste. A la carte you can get only a choice of various types of eggs. That’s what I call limited, compared to W Dubai and even to the much cheaper Retreat Palm Dubai. BTW, W Dubai does even have champagne included in breakfast - a nice touch for the luxury hotel. Another comparison with W Dubai - they offer free cold still water at the beach - also a nice touch for the luxury hotel. And the last one - I have not yet received a refund of my deposit (the rules say it will be back in 14 working days). Understandable, but Five Jumeirah Village (the same hotel group) executed refund in just a couple of days. Let’s hope it’s also just an issue of the soft opening.
Luxury, stylish, modern designed hotel. Very stylish comfortable room, nice bed, comfortable large bathroom with standalone bath, shower and a lot of amenities (we stayed in a studio room). A separate wardrobe with a makeup table and lighting - my girlfriend loved it. Very soft and comfortable bathrobes and slippers. Efficient soundproofing - good to have it when you have DJ’s outside and construction going on. Fantastic set of pools with comfortable sunbeds. A nice beach with the same type of sunbeds. Two DJ’s most of the time - at the pool and at the beach. Friendly and efficient staff. Nicely placed breakfast restaurant with a lot of outdoor seating. Quick check in and check out.

Check in and out took quite long. Our room was not ready until nearly 4pm.
Pool and spa were excellent. Beautiful massage during our stay. Great location.

I wish we stayed for longer than 2 nights.
Can't begin to emphasis on the top-tier service and amenities @ the FIVE LUXE. A dubai trip is incomplete without a visit to this grand & luxury property.
