The location was great, not far from the town centre but situated in an area steeped in local history. The building itself is everything and more from a structure of this age, bags of character, pitch black timber beams, mottle and daub walls and a period 'walk in' fireplace. We had booked a family room which was in fact a self contained arrangement of 2 separate rooms, a small landing area with tea and coffee making facilities and two armchairs. Both rooms were decorated with interesting period prints and paintings. Towels were ample in quantity and very soft. The beer was well kept (Harvey's Best Bitter), the atmosphere in the bar very inviting and calm. The bar staff - friendly and efficient. The breakfast was superb and with generous portions. The owner served us and was most friendly and considerate.

I Loved the stay considering the cost it was offered at, The kitchen was fully equipped with all cutleries and appliances required. The stay was clean and comfortable, the staff received us with warm pleasant smiles and were helpful. They went the extra mile by accommodating five of us in a Chalet that was meant for four. Really appreciate the host in doing this for us

. Requested for a late check-out on Monday morning the day we were departing, but the staff was very strict not to allow at least an hour extra. Slightly disappointed with this inflexible approach, but I respect the rule of the house! Though the property was good, after having a look at the other cabin photos advertised. I think we were allocated a cabin that was one among their sub standard ones considering the way the interiors were decorated. Would have loved to stay in Chalet that was one amongst their top notch ones

Well equipped, very comfortable, great location, excellent shower, good size bed, off road parking, quiet, great views from the kitchen window — you can make out Ludlow Castle (when it’s sunny)!

Drippy kitchen tap. Poor communication with the agent Sykes Cottages. We wanted to know what coffee making facilities the cottage had, so used the booking.com portal. After three no responses(!) we phoned and asked to have a call back. We asked our question via text message, and even before we got their answer we got an auto reply asking how well the agent who contacted us handled our enquiry!!! Eventually we got an answer that we should check the details of the accommodation. Of course we had done that, but it did not mention coffee making facilities, which is why we contacted them!! A small thing, admittedly, but Sykes Cottages isn’t very helpful in even small things.

Lovely breakfast. Beautiful location. Walked to Haworth on one day and drove in the next day. Good to do both. Watched lambs and barn owls from our room! Dinners excellent.

Would be good if they made it extra clear that is it a shared bathroom with no tea and coffee making facilities. You literally get a bed and a desk and that it.
