The Cornmill is always welcoming and friendly. The rooms are clean, well designed and presented and the beds are very comfortable. Having the Osteria restaurant on site is also a real bonus - excellent Italian food.

My room this time was at ground level, facing the main crossroads. Double glazing meant that the noise of the traffic was inaudible but ... and I hated this ... it also meant that the window didn't open. I found the room claustrophobic - usually sleep with a window open.

The staff were very friendly and I was okay with the hotel. Breakfast was great and the ambience in general was nice. It's also a very decent location.

There was a strand of hair (not mine) in the double bed in the room I stayed. Because of this, I had to sleep in the single bed. This was very disappointing as this was NOT what I paid for. The receptionist seemed to want to offer some compensation but I was only staying the one night so she said she'd 'inform housekeeping.'

We were given a suite, large , great view, good car parking and pleasant staff.

The suite was unbelievably tired reflecting the information we were given that the whole building will be demolished in the foreseeable future to be replaced by a new hotel and apartment complex.
