Kuala Tahan
Located in Taman Negara – Pahang’s rainforest sanctuary, Mutiara Taman Negara features air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace, offering Tembeling River or jungle views. It has a restaurant and provides a wide range of adventure activities. Free WiFi is offered at the restaurant. I had been wanting to stay here for years after visiting as a guide in the past. My stay didn’t disappoint, the only accommodation in the actual national park is a little aged but great. We loved the food, friendly staff, location and the setting. My recommendation is to go half board the food was l really tasty, good quality and enough to go round (even for a fussy 7 year old).
Kuala Tahan
• Offering an outdoor swimming pool, a private restaurant and free WiFi access at lobby area, Xcape Resort Taman Negara is tucked away in Kampong Keldong. It provides guests with both private rooms and dormitories. Because of some of the other reviews, my expectations were extremely low. But it wasn't that bad, really. The location is outside of the village, but the hotel offers free shuttles and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We only stayed one night and left very early the next morning. Breakfast was okay, but nothing to write home about. We had two rooms with a connecting door, which was great for our family. Cleanliness was okay, we've definitely seen worse. Not a lot of furniture in the room, but had everything we needed. Not sure how I would feel about staying here for a week, but for one night it was perfectly fine.

The location was perfect. Near the river that separates the National Park from the village. Little shops and the floating restaurants only a few minutes walk. The rooms were very basic, but clean and the beds were ok. We preferred staying in the village. In the resort at the other side of the river you are with tourists only.
Nothing. Please rename your accomodation. You can’t call this a resort.
Unique location as it’s the only hotel/resort inside the park. Beautiful surroundings
The size of the bedroom & bathroom were good. These rooms were clean. Hot water, bath towels, toilet rolls & a prayer mat were provided. The resort was close to the jetty & river. There was free coffee, tea & sugar with a functioning cold water dispenser.
A small house for you alone! A very good breakfast in the lobby of the resort
The location is great, the resort is in the National Park across the river from Kuala Tahan. There are various trails that start from the resort and can be explored independently. The resort also offers activities, although we did not try it. The staff is helpful and friendly. Food at Seri Mutiara restaurant is okay. There is a clinic at Kuala Tahan across the river. There is a trolley to bring the luggage up from the jetty to the resort.
Restaurant staff, hotel staff, guide and local boatmen were all very helpful, friendly and professional. Great location for accessing tours or individual hiking. Excellent, high quality local food served at dinner and lunch. Monkeys and lizards come into the resort. On the swamp path we saw monkeys and a millipede. Multiple possibilities for access to the rainforest. Boat trip across from jetty is cute and enjoyable access point to hotel. We also really enjoyed both the day and night boat tours.
The resort is located in the middle of the jungle unlike many other resorts which are across the river. Good air conditioning, nice beds (bring a mosquito net) and nice bathroom. Monkeys play around the houses. The hiking trails are with decking, very nice. There are also observation huts that you can walk to. One is just next to the resort. Wonderful to wake up there, hoping to spot a tapir. We did a river tour and a night tour (ask for Kamil Rozali at TourHQ, he is very good). The food (buffet) is also great here. Varied and delicious.
The room was spotless and very comfortable (room 601). The swimming pool was beautiful! It exceeded my expectations. We should have stayed here all three nights, instead of just one and heading to Mutiara resort (overpriced and disappointing).
