The woody Nature friendly environment was awesome, and the surroundings were calming and relaxing. Nice beds comfortable mattresses, had a good sleep, the rooms were cozy and the feature was the outdoor shower and the bathroom with wc, need to relax on the room its an ideal place as it has your own private balcony as well. Chef Heshan's food was tasty and flavourful, it was great dining in Hantara Udawalawa. You can get a lot of helpful information from the hotel, what to do and where to go or about the safari and the Elephant Transit Home timings and if you need they'll arrange a tuk tuk for you to go there, if you need transportation they will get you that arranged as well for a fair price. safari they arranged was fabulous and gave a fair rate than the outside prices, you can do the 6hrs safari which is the best and recommended or if you don't have much time can do a 3hrs safari, if you need the breakfast on the go, they'll do you a picnic pack early morning 5.30 am to take with you on the Safari. I will recommend Hantara Udawalawa for anyone who likes a place to have a time of your life, a memorable vacation. This was the best stay. Thank you Hantara and the staff.

The place is totally lovey, nicely decorated, well maintained, spacious rooms, the shower is just supercool. The place is at a nice quiet area but close to everything. We had some difficulty on our way and arrived after check-in hours. We managed to call the owner and he was soo helpful, they even put aside a superb dinner even we arrived after the the kitchen was closed. The staff and the manager were also very friendly and helpful. We would certainly will come back to this place when around. Totally recommended. We went on a safari arranged by the hotel, the pricing was good and the cars were in great condition. We went on 3 hours and that was good for us. (tip: ask a car with armholders at the seats - we happened to have one and just realized how comfy it comes at bumpy roads in the park :)) Wish we could stay longer.

We stayed in a new apartment for 2 people. There was plenty of space and we enjoyed the beautiful terrace. Gayan and his family were great hosts and made us feel at home upon our arrival. They organized a great safari trip in Udawalawe National Park where we saw many elephants, hunting crocodiles and large groups of buffalo. Also, they prepared a wonderful dinner and a delicious breakfast.

My experience at Dhalaya Resort in the Udawalawe area was wonderful in every way! The location is characterized by stunning natural beauty, surrounded by breathtaking views that captivate the heart. The gardens of the resort are incredibly beautiful, filled with diverse trees and plants that create an atmosphere of tranquility and serenity. The service was highly professional, with staff always being warm and welcoming. The rooms were clean and impeccably arranged, adding a touch of comfort. The resort also offers a variety of recreational activities, such as safari trips to explore the wildlife. The hotel provides meals and drinks that guests can take with them on their safari trips. The restaurant serves delicious dishes that showcase the authentic flavors of Sri Lanka in a delightful way. I would like to thank the reception staff, especially the young lady Dilmi, for their kind welcome. I also extend my gratitude to the staff member Lakman for his professional service and room preparation. I cannot forget the lovely young lady in the restaurant, the amazing chef, and the restaurant manager David, who provided an exceptional experience in presenting the delicious Sri Lankan dishes. Thank you all for the warmth and hospitality; you gave us a beautiful impression of Sri Lanka and its friendly people. Remote place on the top of the hill in a rainforest -unique location. Has fantastic cristal clean river, I extended for more 3 nights just to swim there. Grill seafood, coconut rise and fried cashew with garlic was my choice for food.

What an amazing secluded place in the heart of the jungle! We had the entire place to ourselves for our 2 night stay and we had the best time. There’s so many beautiful birds around and we were so lucky to see many monkeys, even in the grounds of the hotel!! Our host Vishwa looked after us so well. He made incredible tasting food and took us to the nearby Elephant orphanage for a very small fee. The entry to the orphanage was fairly cheap also and it was lovely to see the baby elephants fed! We went on safari on our first morning and that was the best experience ever. Vishwa prepared us a delicious packed breakfast and we ate it with the elephants inside the Udawalawe national park which was such an incredible experience. Out of all the places I have visited in Sri Lanka this is by far my favourite. And I do hope I can return again soon. Vishwa also drove us to our next destination for a fair price so getting around is not a problem from the remote location.

The property was the perfect place to stay when visiting Udawalawe National Park. Everything was easily organised by Hashan and he was super accommodating and a friendly person. Hashan provided recommendations for other things to do in the area and drove us in his tuk tuk to the shops and ATM when needed. The room was huge with a great bathroom and balcony. Breakfast was more than enough and full of fresh Sri Lankan ingredients.
