The whole family works at the resort and they were so kind, welcoming, warm, friendly, and helpful that we felt right at home. We took a cooking course one afternoon and it was one of the highlights of our Italy trip. We learned to make typical rustica pizza and 3 different types of pasta. There was a lot of smiling and laughter in a beautiful setting. Food was delicious at breakfast and dinner, made from products produced on their farm. Fresh, homestyle cooking with excellent flavor and high quality, local ingredients. We enjoyed the family feeling and how personal our experience was.

In the rooms even the smallest details was well managed, hand knitten curtisns, table covers, high quality toiletteries.

The sea view, the food and wine, the comfort of our room, and more importantly the genuine feeling of being welcomed by the entire team working at the resort. I feel like at home.

Located in the Salento countryside, Borgo Mulino a Vento - Resort is a 4-star hotel set in Uggiano La Chiesa, 6 km from Otranto and 5 minutes' drive from Porto Badisco beach. We have had a wonderful four night stay at Mulino a Vento. Everything about the hotel is great- the location is very well suited for exploring the coast, the room was very spacious and had a lovely peaceful patio area, the pool area is fantastic and has a great range of loungers and cabanas without feeling ‘resorty’, the restaurant food was delicious (with lots of vegetarian options, which is not often the case in the area), breakfast was a treat, and the staff were very nice and helpful. We can’t wait to return for a future holiday. We’d really recommend hiring a car for exploring the area- there didn’t seem to be a lot of public transport.

We travel every summer to a calm location to unwind and this was the best we’ve been to. Marilena and Carmine are the most attentive, genuine, sweet hosts. You’ll be able to enjoy a breakfast with local produce as well as lunch and dinner on request. Carmine is an amazing cook and most of the food is sourced from their vegetable garden, making it a true Italian experience where each ingredient is remarkable (I’m from Italy) and truly appreciate great food! They also produce oil and have local wine and artisanal objects to purchase. If you’re an animal lover you’ll also enjoy their cats and wonderful dog! Couldn’t recommend more!
