Shy, the owner of this business is a star. She organize ererything for us, all the pick ups and also a boat trip. She actually waited for us by the beach once we came back.from.the boat tour with the key of our bungalow. She, and whole of her family, made us very welcome.

Resort is located right on the beach, we stayed in a beachfront villa/ocean view and can 100% recommend, nothing quite beats the view in the morning. It is on a little part of the beach separated from the rest of the beach by river (there’s a little bridge and crossing the river is pleasant as it’s only ankle deep and water is cool and refreshing) there is no street noise - no road access ☺️ do not fear, the walk is only a minute. Breakfast is served under a tree on the beach which makes your stay that much more a paradise one! Resort is beautifully decorated with the owners artwork and there’s plenty of cute dogs and cats which the family has adopted 💖 Bryan and his family have been running the resort since late 90’s and they certainly know a thing or two about hospitality ☺️ There’s an option of dinner, which as of date (Nov 2024) was 300 pesos per person. What makes this place extra special is aircon which has worked perfectly, probably the best aircon on the island so far. Lastly, we also used laundry service and it was quick - by the afternoon our laundry was ready and it was 100 pesos for a kilogram. Overall, fantastic stay! We will be back and if you are tossing up between this place and somewhere else - hopefully this review will help you with that decision. Thank you Bryan and family 💖 we will see you in future!

The hotel was very modern and clean. Walking distance to the beach is about 6 minutes. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. We felt very comfortable.

I just want to echo the other reviews—this place is truly amazing. For me, it’s always a joy to come back here after a day of island hopping and land tour. It has become my happy place. Every corner is beautiful, and both sunrise and sunset are something to look forward to every single day. The on-site restaurant serves good food, and the view makes every meal even better. Whether you're watching the sunrise or sunset, the experience never disappoints. I even brought my morning coffee down to the beach just to enjoy the peaceful vibe. Also, an earlier review mentioned April being a “good” cook. Honestly, that’s such an understatement. She’s a pro in the kitchen! If you ever have an issue, April or Roberto will personally help you. They don’t just send a staff member—they’ll be there themselves. Their kindness and warmth are just the cherry on top. And let’s not forget Kikai and Sam, the resident dogs. They add the perfect touch of cuteness to the whole place. Roberto supports local boatmen and other local businesses, which I really admire. If there's a business worth supporting, it’s this one!

Very calm and relaxed place with exceptionally sweet staff and great food. The location is great, right on the beach. As the place is quite isolated from Port Barton, or any other place, you are really able to get all down in gear and relax. Mariejoy is a great quiet place to just relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the ocean and the nature. The food is great. Grilled seafood, but also chicken and more. We only had great meals - simple, but tasty. The grilled fish we had was super fresh, think it had been caught the same day! It was possible to eat dinner by ourrselves right at the beach at a table with candle light (very romantic!). It was possible to book a day tour with Island hopping and snorkeling - we really enjoyed this tour were we where able to see sea turtle, corals, colourful fish, seastars and more. Staff is friendly and the drinks are good. Mariejoy is not in the city of Port Barton, but 20-30 minutes by boat down the coast. We liked this, as we had a beach almost to ourselves and the place is very quiet and relaxed, however, if you want to go to bars and restaurants in Port Barton and enjoy the nightlife and parties there, it might be better to find a place in Port Barton city. For us, however, Mariejoy was great.
