We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place is spacious and clean. We had a bed for everybody (4 double beds in 3 bedrooms). There were 2 tvs both having DSTV and Netflix so that the kids can watch different shows to us. No load shedding! The place is set up so the TV's and lights continue to work despite load shedding. There is even a power bank so that you can charge your devices. Gas cooktop so that you can still cook as well. Plenty of cookware, crockery and cutlery available. We really enjoyed our stay, it was a lovely break away from home.

The staff and owners are extremely friendly and really make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need for your stay. Everything was clean, also got cleaned while we were out for the day. The facilities are great with secure parking, a nice terrace for each room, hot water etc.

As a solo female traveller, this was the perfect destination to unplug from the buzz of city life. 3.5hrs from Jhb, I chose it because it is safe and the views of the mountains are SPECTACULAR. I was welcomed by Sam upon my arrival and immediately the warmth of the lodge was felt. I am a return guest, and I returned because my first time at this property was absolutely incredible. Coming back was always a question of when, not if. The lodge itself is really well maintained, the cabins are clean and stunning. I really like the hot water provided in the morning for tea/coffee with a rusk. The wood for the fireplace adds a nice touch as well for those cold and rainy nights. A special shoutout to the staff, they were great, I was always greeted with warmth and a smile. The greatest appeal of this place is the location, the hiking trails and the closeness of the mountains, but then there is the food. I was fed so well and so much! All my meals were something to look forward to. I was grateful for the packed lunch on the day I opted to be out walking/hiking at lunchtime. I loved that the dinners were essentially interesting takes on clean, whole foods. The hiking trails offer something for everyone (long and short routes), and I took advantage and walked/hiked as much as I could. Take a good strong pair of walking/hiking shoes and sunscreen. Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough, whether for a solo traveller, a couple or a family/group. Greenfire is like no other! Nature at its BEST.
