Beautiful and peaceful spot on the river, as well as conveniently located close to shops and other amenities. Loved our room, which included a loft area for our children. Cooling off in the stunning pool was fantastic, after the hot December days.
Absolutely delicious breakfast - the fruit salad was so fresh and vibrant!
And the hosts are delightful people - friendly and helpful.

This was definitely the best place I stayed in South Africa. The bed was comfortable, the food was amazing, the stars were incredible and the staff were divine. I arrived with no food and no transport and they bent over backwards to make sure I was thoroughly taken care of the entire time. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you so much!

Port Alfred is a wonderful mix of beautiful scenery, lovely clean beaches, and great restaurants. Very definitely worth a visit.
The Schools Boat Race Regatta is held in Port Alfred every year, in December. It is a firm favourite on our rowing calendar.

My stay at Adventure Apartment, Colchester was truly wonderful. The space was exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, and offered a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. Every detail from the serene surroundings to the warm and welcoming ambiance, was thoughtfully arranged. It’s the perfect place for anyone looking for comfort, tranquility, and a touch of elegance. A great little town with beautiful beaches and river frontages. Lots of little places to visit around town as well. Prefer it out of season as it becomes very busy and you loose the charm. A coastal gem that invites you to slow down and enjoy the sea air

Old style of buildings but in the based in the nature. Super bedroom and in the morning all kind of animals where in front of your room. Also the Akmala Game reserve tour is highly recommendable because we saw so many wild animals (lions, rhino's, cheetahs, secretary bird,...)
The dinner in the lodge was superb.

Really interesting community.
Really interesting community. Best place is on the stoep at the Pig and Whistle. Their food was great, there is a pool table for entertainment for the kids. Prices are very good and the staff very friendly and helpful.

This was a new listing , and we were the first guests, LUCKY US!! The facilities offered are too many to mention. An updated kitchen with everything that opens and closes and more. Filter water on tap, a wine fridge, every spice that you can imagine. If you have forgotten anything at home, no stress they have it. A beautiful, clean, large family home. The beds are comfortable, shower pressure is great, wifi, dstv and views from every bedroom. Our host Larraine was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. This gem is a true home from home

The village of Cannon Rocks is very quaint , beautiful beaches that are completely un-spoilt with excellent walks on the beaches and in the coastal forest - All shopping catered for in Kenton on Sea which is a 20 minute drive away

Port Alfred is a small and attractive town with beautiful and clean beaches . It has beautiful villas guest houses and nice hotels with tasty food .There are so many tourist attractions eg. The golf club. It has two malls, Heritage mall and Rosehill mall. We went to eat at spur with my family.

We stayed at Dungbeetle River Lodge for 2 nights while...
We stayed at Dungbeetle River Lodge for 2 nights while visiting Addo. We arrived in the late afternoon and then took a full day game drive from the lodge. It was a bit much for us and would do a morning game drive next time. The experience was awesome, it was just too long for our pensioner bodies! Staying 2 nights was perfect because the evening gave us a nice recovery period before we hit the road for our return to Cape Town. Dungbeetle River Lodge was a perfect location from which to travel into Addo. It's literally 3 minutes from the south gate of the park.

This is the place to stay for easy access to Private Game Reserves and Safaris. Recommend Addo Elephant Park, Pumba Private Game Reserve & Sibuya. The restaurants were amazing too. Stanleys is a must. Pizzarella have amazing pizzas. Vollo and Voila also great.
