We had a very pleasant stay here! Rubby is very kind and friendly! She always checking on us and make sure everything is good. They also offered discount for Fansipan ticket. - Absolutely luxurious hotel — from the moment we arrived, we were impressed multiple times. - Stunning views and amazing sunsets, with beautifully maintained gardens every morning. - The hotel is very clean, spacious, and elegant — true heritage and luxury feel. - Food options were plentiful and accommodating; my vegetarian friend had plenty of choices. - The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, respectful, and attentive. - Multiple places to have a drink and several restaurants, with helpful maps to navigate the hotel. We also had some amazing cocktails in their restaurant. - Massage and bath facilities were exceptional — especially the bath area, where the staff asked for feedback and literally implemented our suggestions the next day, which was absolutely incredible. The herbal bath there is an absolute must-try. - The hotel is in a very central location, just a few minutes’ walk to the city center, making access very easy. - Staff were proactive and went the extra mile to make our stay perfect and relaxing.

This hotel is something really unique. The landscape is one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. It does not matter which edge of the hotel are you at, everything is just so beautiful and calm. It is literally a paradise in the clouds with breathtaking views. We loved the sundown drinks provided by the hotel between 5 to 6. For the sundown drinks the hotel provides with quality spirits and great snacks which is a lovely touch from the hotel and it is such a great feeling having drinks while watching the beautiful sunset. All members of staff are really helpful and kind. The breakfast is great, we loved the selections. The matcha latte is fabulous. The dinner selection is good and my personal favourite was the Bo Luc Lac - Shaken Beef. The rooms are beautiful. We also loved the fact that the hotel is very environment friendly and offers tokens for guest if they skip the cleaning for a day. The hotel does not push customers and does not try upsell which is also a great experience. All in all me and my wife we absolutely loved this place and we highly recommend it. All organic food absolutely delicious & you can taste how fresh everything it is…as well as seeing exactly where it all came from (the garden!). they organised our trekking for us, and transportation back to Hanoi. recommend this place to everything.

The best part for us was the countryside .

The best part for us was the countryside . The town Was surprisingly noisy, lots of bright lights on the buildings. I expected a quaint town not a very busy touristy place. We took a private taxi 5-6 hours from Hanoi. Very long journey, the last part of the journey is a very steep incline with very rugged roads.

Lao Cai is a frontier town and as such, has a quite quirky feel to it. There is not a whole lot to do per se, apart from visiting a couple of pagodas. I do like the vibe there and there is some really good Vietnamese food available.

A great, quiet mountain town - and we didn't even go for the...

A great, quiet mountain town - and we didn't even go for the Sunday market! We stayed 4 nights, and would come back. Take tours of the surrounding hill tribes and mountains with Mr Huy Trung, from Huy Trung Homestay, or use his self-guided walking tour maps. We enjoyed the second hand shops and Milano coffee cafe, and a restaurant at BacHA Boutique Homestay, by the lake.

We absolutely loved SA PA.

We absolutely loved SA PA. I would recommend 2 days as it can get froggy to make sure you can see the sites but plenty to do and the people are really nice. I would 1000% come back. The views are absolutely incredible.

Very difficult to find your way there, all homestay/hotel...

Very difficult to find your way there, all homestay/hotel owners refuse to provide information and collaborate only with specific companies. English guides limited but a guide named Thao made our stay a nightmare. She was trying to push lunch and other side services, once she realized we didn’t want that, she stopped any guiding and intentionally destroyed half of one day and the whole second day by acting simply as a side person on the trip, not providing absolutely anything. Totally unprofessional and even verbally rude and sarcastic. Avoid at all costs!

The city itself, nothing to write home about, but a good place to travel in to and the biggest city in the region so ofc prefered to use as a base for other activities. The real adventures are outside this gloomy town. Will come again, but spend as much time as possible outside the city.

Mountainous area famous for plum. It's called the white valley because during the spring the whole area is covered by plum flowers. So it's best to visit in early January. Otherwise, summer is a good time for plum picking. I had an enjoyable experience picking plum myself and brought lots of them home. I was lucky to visit during the weekends when they had annual horse racing competition. Really memorable. They also have weekly Hmong flea market on Sunday, you can eat local food and see ethnic people trading. Riding motorbike and looking at the mountain was fairly enough for me. You definitely should eat at Sa Mu restaurant. The food was so good that we went there twice.
