This hotel is perfect! Location, decor, staff and service! The rooms are amazingly clean and beautifully decorated. Our room faced the beach, and the window was huge! So we enjoyed that very much. Upon arrival, they gave us vouchers for free drinks at the bar, which we used to have some very delicious gin & tonics! I would definitely stay here again!

The hotel is excellent! Very well located, 100 meters from Poncitos beach, with restaurants, shops, currency exchange, and markets within walking distance. The room is very big, comfortable. Excellent bathroom with new towels and bedding. Breakfast is amazing, lots of variety. The staff is very polite. We stayed twice at this hotel on our trip to Uruguay, and we will certainly stay again in the next one.

This hotel is conveniently located just a block from the seafront. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and equipped with quiet air conditioning and a fridge. The bathroom is a good size, with excellent hot water and strong water pressure. The 24/7 reception is staffed by friendly and helpful team members, day and night. Breakfast is enjoyable, though it could use more fresh fruit options. The gym is clean and well-maintained, but it would benefit from having a decent set of dumbbells. Additionally, the hotel is within walking distance of numerous restaurants and grocery stores. Overall, I had a great stay and would happily return!

I loved the location its few minutes walk to the shopping center that has a supermarket called TaTa that sells everything. the bus terminal is there also. the rooms in the hotel is very nice and clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful I really enjoyed staying there its a very good place to stay and great price. Great modern city by the sea with also lovely old buildings. I knew nothing about Montevideo before coming here and ended up staying 6 nights. Visit the Memorial Andes 1972 museum. It's amazing and very moving!

The city is full of life.

The city is full of life. People are friendly, and shopping is great. We especially loved the food. We were surrounded by great restaurants. El Fogon, Bar Facal and La Pasiva in 18 De Julio are especially great. We enjoyed every minute of it.

Montevideo is the capital of a small country whose economy...

Montevideo is the capital of a small country whose economy is doing quite well. I was surprised how unattractive the city, as a whole, was. Seems like some paint might be in order, and many blocks exhibited rank neglect. On the way out of town, driving past mile after mile of beach-side high rises, I realized maybe all the money has moved here, away from the downtown area that I had been staying and walking around in. I would highly recommend two wonderful free museums -- the Gaucho and Coin museum in the gob smackingly gorgeous and huge main hall of a bank, and the Design and Decorative arts museum in the Taranco Palacio -- Julian Fellowes eat your heart out. In general I very much enjoyed walking around the Ciudad Viejo, with its beautiful plazas and faded glory residences.
