We had an incredible experience at Under Canvas near the Grand Canyon. The remote location provided a sense of tranquility and safety. The breathtaking view offered amazing opportunities for stargazing. The tent's amenities exceeded expectations, giving us a hotel-like comfort. The staff's friendliness and assistance made our stay even more enjoyable. They went above and beyond, surprising us with a 'Just Married' decoration in our tent and a heartfelt card to celebrate our honeymoon. I wholeheartedly recommend Under Canvas for a memorable and unique getaway. Additionally, the common spaces at Under Canvas were truly charming. The fire pits provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow travelers, complete with free marshmallows and sticks for a delightful treat. The breakfast options were satisfying, and the organized evening activities, along with live music, added an extra layer of entertainment and enjoyment to our stay. It's evident that Under Canvas goes above and beyond to create a memorable and well-rounded experience for its guests.

We loved it all: the historical hotel, the view, the cozy cabin we stayed at, for all the 3 nights, with its own kitchen and a porch included. The grocery store on the site, the museum, and the whole valley with its unique history and presence. The silence and the atmosphere of the off season. Some occasionally falling snow and rain just added to the beaty of the surrounding nature.

The customer service was amazing. We got in after 11 PM and she checked us in with a smile. She also helped me print off some documents I left at home. The bed was comfortable and the location was great. The room and bathroom was clean. A good value for the low price.

It is a lovely little spot and the lady on the front desk was so helpful and pleasant. Would definitely stop here again. The comfy chairs at the front of the rooms outside where a bonus to sit out and chat to neighbours. It's a credit to you mokee motel.

If you love the beauty of the desert, respect and admire Navajo culture, and want to be surrounded by iconic visions of the Southwest, Monument Valley is a bucket list trip for sure. I would go back with family, perhaps booking a horseback trip in the park next time.

We loved visiting the Edge of the Cedars Museum, State Park. It's beautifully done with many ancestral artifacts, plus an actual ruin with a Kiva that you can climb down into. It's definitely worth taking an hour or so out of your journey to see.

After getting to the hotel I was kinda leary looked old and kinda run down but to find out someone had just bought the hotel and was in process of refurbishing it. Our room was very nice beds were comfortable and the room was clean no mold. I would definitely stay here again friendly people Beautiful state

There isn't a town center, but it was the perfect spot between Monticello and Blanding. Not much was open in March in Monticello and only one place named Yaks serves breakfast in Blanding. Many more options for other meals in Blanding including a darling ice cream shop. We loved touring the working Cedar Mesa Pottery shop there and finding great deals on their seconds. And there is a hike to 5 Kiva Pueblo ruins some of our group enjoyed.

Mt. Peale Country Inn is REMOTE, and just what we wanted.

Mt. Peale Country Inn is REMOTE, and just what we wanted. Set amid forested mountains and meadows, it's perfect for star gazing and vegging out. In the mornings and evenings, deer and jack rabbits wander right up to the viewing deck. The spacious common rooms let us mingle with other guests or just do our own thing. Amanda and her daughter are attentive and helpful. We couldn't have asked for more. We're returning next spring and bringing a friend with us!

We arrived late afternoon and looked around Gould's Resort. The museum was interesting and food was quite good other than the country western music, which is not our style. We took the Sunrise Tour through Gould's Resort and it was excellent. The formations in Monument Valley are fabulous. The movie and Navajo history are also very interesting.

Monticello is the best base to visit The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. It takes about an hour to get to the visitor center - if you do not make any stops on your way. But the surrounding nature is wonderful, so you probably make lots of stops to take photos. The road into the national park in Indian Creek Canyon is very scenic. Monticello is a small and quiet town. There's nothing to do there except to spend your night. There are two pizza saloons (the medium pizza costs $15), a Mexican restaurant which had a growing line of customers in the evening and a Thai restaurant which is probably the most expensive in town (minimum $20 for a meal, no drinks). Its worth to go and have a look at a Mormon temple on the edge of town - it is beautiful.
