United StatesAll the staff there are super friendly. Because I checked-in late (6PM), they also offered me a complementary 12 PM check-out the next day (1 hr later than the normal 11 AM checkout). The property is clean and well-maintained. The common area gives me a cozy feeling. We had some great chatter sitting near the fireplace with a couple of drinks. The room we booked (Ramble) has a daybed and a window you can look out too. I believe in spring or summer the view will be much greener (we visited in early Feb). The bedding is super comfy. The mattress is not too soft to make you feel you are sinking into it, which I really like.

This is an older motel that was refurbished while retaining its original charm. Our room (#9) was basic but spotless with a very comfortable bed. The continental breakfast had lots of variety and good coffee. For those seeking other options, there are several restaurants within a short drive.
I'd also like to mention that due to an unexpected family situation at home, we were almost forced to cancel our stay. We were able to sort things out and keep our reservation but I'd be remiss if I didn't thank Rhonda (innkeeper) for her prompt responses and assistance with late check-in instructions.
We'd recommend the Briarcliffe and will be back!

This lovely old style motel was unbelievable!
We had a huge double room, with lounge, kitchenette and monster bathroom with spa bath as well as biggest shower on our trip!
Dinner in pub restaurant which formed part of the complex was excellent- the biggest and best seared scallops ever!
All staff were very welcoming and this was a great way to start our fall trip oif a lifetime. Thanks to all!

I am always happy with my stays at the Berkshire Inn. The bed is super comfortable. I love that there is a bathtub. It's quiet and the staff are nice and accommodating. Great value. Recommended.

I stayed in Pittsfield to visit the New Lebanon and Pittsfield Shaker villages. It was wonderful to see these historical places.
Pittsfield is a bit sad as a town, a bit decayed... though they do have a theater and a concert hall.

Lenox seems more crowded than mid-town Manhattan in summer, especially weekends, but the town traffic control is very good and after many short stays in the area, it remains our choice destination. Be patient, find a place to park, then walk in the village. Make dinner reservations well in advance. Drive out to one of several near-by walking places (and/or drives). Choose from the many mansions open for touring in Lenox or within driving distance (e.g., The Mount (my favorite), Ventfort Hall, Arrowhead, etc.) and art museums nearby (the Clark Art in Williamstown is amazing). Stroll in the peaceful Berkshires Botanical Garden (Stockbridge). Make a plan and then deviate at will.

Rating my review of holiday inn Great Barrington please never stay there. After they offered me money off because are tv wouldn't work. They called back the next day to cancel the $50.00 because of the bad review. What horrible business practice. Little do they know I emailed Better Business Bureau and Spoke to the attorney General of Massachusetts.

There is little to see in Williamstown itself, apart from the campus of the college, which is less architecturally pleasing than (say) Amherst. Nonetheless, it is an excellent base from which to see the Berkshires and southern Vermont.

Definitely glad to have visited Joe's Cafe, a local watering hole for many years. We chatted with the waitress, a few other customers, and Joe's son Frank. It's that kind of place--hot coffee, mushroom omelette for my wife, corn beef hash with eggs up for me.

I didn't stay in Lee for anything that was in Lee, but for Lee's proximity to Stockbridge, and Lenox. Lee had nothing that I was interested in and I was only in the town when in my room ar the hotel.

The only attraction for us was the Norman Rockwell Museum, and Main St, which Rockwell made famous. There are no real choices of dinning other than the Red Lion. No other night life, or attractions as it is pretty much in the middle of no where.

A very "walkable" town that has much to offer - a good selection of restaurants and arts activities. The presence of MCLA and the many state and local parks really enhances the area's cultural and outdoor offerings. Although there a a handful of stately homes that are need of repair, this only enhances the charm of the city. Within an hour's walk, I was able to take in a good portion of the city. Highly recommend Ramunto's Brick Oven Pizza - delicious food and an easy walk from Downstreet Hotel and other points downtown.

One of the worst motels in my life.
One of the worst motels in my life. Working here very strange people, by smell of marihuana from them all the time. On matrass by some reason was plastic cover , and on it impossible to sleep (never see it in hotels before, but I changed a lot of hotels and motels). When I removed it, they told about bugs , which can come without it and why I took it away. All old and ruined. No any hangers at all. No any change of linens and towels. For shampoo you need to ask. In bathroom a lot of huge ants.
