It is a very nice place to visit and we will go again. It's a beautiful location, the shops are very nice, the streets are kept very clean. The atmosphere was wonderful. We went to the arena and watched hockey. It was very enjoyable.

If you're going for the biggest garage sale, bring a good pair of walking shoes, sun screen, cash, drinks to hydrate and prepare for some great deals. If you're going for Lake George it's beautiful take a lot of photos. However beware parking is not your friend, inquire about the shuttle buses they have instead of fighting for a parking spot each day you go. In any case enjoy, we did.

I had to change rooms because the original room was up a flight of stairs which I would have difficulty with a bum leg, as it turned out the motel did not have a back door so I had to walk around the motel to get in the front door. not very convenient but over all the room was adequate. just barely.

An amazing small city.

An amazing small city. Lovely high peaks location, fascinating history, friendly people. The CAVU cafe at the regional airport was a delicious surprise. Everyone has their own tastes. Take time to walk and explore and you will find wonderful people, great food, and lots of things to do.

We had a heck of a time finding places open to eat. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and many places are closed on Monday and Tuesday. We ended up eating 2 nights at the same, underwhelming cafe/bar. We did enjoy the hardware store and a couple of gift shops.

Beautiful Ausable River runs in the heart of the village.

Beautiful Ausable River runs in the heart of the village. Water is clean enough to take a dip and there is a waterfall which makes for a great hang-out spot. Restaurants abound for breakfast and dinner, would recommend the Hungry Trout resort restaurant for a delicious dinner with river views and great service. Activities include riverside hikes and swims in the summer, and skiing in the winter. We will be back.

I loved touring the fort, get there early before 11 to be able to see most of the demonstrations of the muskets. The cannon demonstration was nice and loud. The amount and beauty of canons was amazing. It was humbling to walk in the steps of so much history. The King's Garden was very nice with a walled garden and beautiful glass greenhouse from England. Although it was late in the season, there were still flowers to be seen and enjoyed. The views of Lake Champlain from all directions is breathtaking. Be sure to take a ride on the Carillion Boat for an entertaining and informative river cruise. Mt Defiance also has spectacular views of the lake and the mountains of Vermont on the other side. All of the site's staff are dressed in historic attire and are a wealth of knowledge on the fort and the battles.

Being able to visit the Olympic venues was a dream come true for me! We also enjoyed visiting the John Brown Farm and learning about history. We stayed two nights and had basically two days in the town but we could have used maybe one more day/night to see everything!
