Truly one of the best stays I’ve ever had in my years of traveling. From check-in to check-out, it was always a great experience. I stayed in the cottage house on the property in the Acadia Cottage West room. The room was very spacious, clean, and had its own AC unit. The breakfast was phenomenal. Every morning there were 2 options: 1 sweet and 1 savory. I was also introduced to blueberry coffee which is now my new favorite. They also had “tea time” during the day with small delicious pastries. The best part of my entire stay was the kindness and hospitality from Chris, Joshua, and Mariah. If I come back to Bar Harbor, this is the only place I will stay at!

The central location of this hotel was perfect as we left our car there and walked everywhere in town. The room was exceptional with a seperate sitting room and private outdoor space to relax after a long day of hiking. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the best hiking trails. They were always available for advice and tips. Althoug breakfast was not available, they provided everything necessary to start the day well like fruits, porridge and their freshly baked blueberry muffins. We would definitely stay there again.

There was a real nice out door area even a place to bbq if you wanted to. It was nice and quite. We didn't enter act with the staff never even seen them..witch was fine we didn't require anything

We stayed at Anchorage Motel in our visit to Acadia National Park and the location was exceptional. There are some supermarkets at walking distance and two gas stations a couple of blocks from the motel. There are also many restaurants close by. The staff were very kind and helpful which made for a wonderful stay.

Bar Harbor is a charming and picturesque town with plenty to enjoy when everything is open. However, if you’re visiting during the off-season, be sure to have a backup plan—many restaurants and shops are closed during this time. Unfortunately, most restaurant websites aren’t updated to reflect seasonal closures, so you may need to walk around and check in person, then pivot to another option if your first choice is closed.

This is a wonderful launching pad for beautiful nearby towns such as Blue Hill, Deer Island, Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, Seal Harbor, and, of course, Acadia National Park where one can view the entire seacoast from beautiful Cadillac Mountain.

Exceptional does not begin to describe this property. Is it a beautifully constructed and secluded cabin mirroring the owner’s memory of her childhood home on the West Coast of Ireland. Imaginatively furnished, it is the best equipped rental in which I have ever stayed. Far from the hustle and bustle but close to all of the major attractions: Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, the Schoodic National Scenic Byway, Frenchman’s Bay and so much more.

Bass Harbor is a wonderful place to stay and experience all the surrounding area has to offer. We biked, kayaked, and hiked during the week. Bar Harbor is an easy drive and a great place to get a book, eat out, and shop.

Bar Harbor is beautfully located by the bay. It is set for tourism with numerous stores and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed eating at The Thirst Whale (the clam chowder was one of the best) and Geddy's.

Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor.

Southwest Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor. It is very walkable, with several restaurants and shops. It is a short drive to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and Acadia National Park. The city dock is open to the public, and you can get some good pictures of the harbor from the dock. I took my wife to the Red Sky restaurant for her birthday. It was very good.

It was quiet compared to Bar Harbor and very peaceful. There were many shops and a few restaurants. The marina was lovely. Bar Harbor and Acadia were just minutes away. I would stay in Northeast Harbor again.

The 2.5 hour guided bus tour of Acadia was very good (except for the young children that were on our tour). If you have a car, take a ride around the entire island Bar Harbor is located on. We spent 4 hours and drove 65 miles around the periphery of the island; the views were fantastic.

We wished we could have stayed longer as we liked the place.

We wished we could have stayed longer as we liked the place. Next time we will try to come back during the high season as the area was getting ready for the spring and therefore not all shops yet re-open. But more important for our trip (Eastern 2024) it was not far from the Acadia park.
