Wilfried and his family are absolute gems. We had the best stay there, loved sharing our meals with the family and getting to know more about the region through the eyes of a local. Wilfried also helped us organise a day trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for my partner’s birthday gift. It was certainly a highlight of our time in Africa. The views from the bedroom were stunning, we spent some time on the balcony just reading and watching the lake. The sunset was beautiful. The cooking was all homemade and delicious with a mix of local recipes and international recipes. The shower was hot and had excellent water pressure.

Paradise Eco Hub is an absolute dream. The domes overlooking the lake feel like a waking fairy tale — open to the breeze, filled with light, and offering one of the most magical views you could imagine. Lake Bunyonyi means “the place of little birds,” and it truly lives up to its name: you are surrounded all day by the songs of countless bird species, like living inside a Disney storybook. The team is exceptional — young, enthusiastic, and incredibly welcoming, yet also very professional. We also went canoeing to the nearby islands, visited a local school, and had lovely conversations with the students. This community has many meaningful support projects, and we really encourage future visitors to consider contributing to some of them. Well done to everyone at Paradise Eco Hub — keep going just like this. A truly dreamy place, and an experience we will never forget.

We had a wonderful stay at Mianzi Guest House, the rooms were simple but spacious and clean, the common area was very nice to sit in, the breakfast and dinner were fantastic. But what really stood out was the staff, Emma and his team really went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable stay, they provided everything we needed, even joined us on our tours. We planned to stay 3 nights but ended up staying 5, i think thats telling enough how good it was :) Oh and the view of the Volcanoes in the morning is absolutely incredible!

This place is truly a hidden gem! I stayed 3 days 2 nights, wish I can stay longer. What makes this place so special are the staff. From the manager (pick up me at the town and send to the resort by boat), the boatman, local guide, chef, helper and all in the resort. This resort strategic location is perfect who love quiteness and really into the nature. Trust me once you are here you dont feel like to leave. Amazing staff that are always smiling and super helpful. Amazing views of Kabale town and I would recommend people to stay at this guest house. Food is also delicious.

Lovely peaceful place on Itambira Island on Lake Bunyonyi. Very basic and little food choice but super sweet staff and very helpful.

Santaviva is located in the center of Kisoro what makes the place very authentic. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom is basic but has everything you need. We traveled by public transport and Ivan, the manager, arranged our night bus from Kampala to Kisoro. It made our journey very pleasant to travel over night instead of during the day. This was if the recommendation of Ivan. It’s also only a 10 minutes walk to from the bus, pleasant. Ivan took us out to a local bar to watch a football match, a place where we normally wouldn’t go I guess. Ivan and the rest of the staff are very kind and helpful. The food is also very good. we enjoyed the place a lot and it was always a nice feeling to come “home” after the gorilla trekking or just wandering around in Kisoro. Highly recommended place to stay in Kisoro.
