Lake Bunyonyi means “the place of little birds,” and it truly lives up to its name: you are surrounded all day by the songs of countless bird species, like living inside a Disney storybook. The team is exceptional — young, enthusiastic, and incredibly welcoming, yet also very professional. We also went canoeing to the nearby islands, visited a local school, and had lovely conversations with the students. This community has many meaningful support projects, and we really encourage future visitors to consider contributing to some of them. This place is truly a hidden gem! I stayed 3 days 2 nights, wish I can stay longer. What makes this place so special are the staff. From the manager (pick up me at the town and send to the resort by boat), the boatman, local guide, chef, helper and all in the resort. This resort strategic location is perfect who love quiteness and really into the nature. Trust me once you are here you dont feel like to leave. Amazing staff that are always smiling and super helpful. Amazing views of Kabale town and I would recommend people to stay at this guest house. Food is also delicious.

Absolutely everything! It is just like the photos however those can’t capture the stunning views from the island, the friendly staff or wonderful sense of peace! I stayed in a treehouse, very cosy, comfy bed, mosquito net, hot shower & lovely view from the balcony. The birds in the morning were something else! The lovely restaurant area was a great place to sit and read a book as was the « Sundowner Deck » with sun beds, a great place to swim from or have a drink as the sun sets. The food was plentiful and good. This place is absolutely magic! Just don’t come expecting western mod-cons eg: you’ll need to charge devices while the generator is on between 6-10pm, there are some insects and if you shower too long you’ll run out if hot water - this is an island in remote Uganda! Oh and be warned, there is a steep path and sone steps to most of the accommodation..

Everything, from the moment I booked on booking com, the owner kept in touch and suggested how to reach, even though I came late. He talked to the Bodaboda guy to get me to his apartment. He changed the room with a bigger one without extra money! He is warm and willing to help you. Good value for money. I will definitely be back!
