Lake Bunyonyi means “the place of little birds,” and it truly lives up to its name: you are surrounded all day by the songs of countless bird species, like living inside a Disney storybook. The team is exceptional — young, enthusiastic, and incredibly welcoming, yet also very professional. We also went canoeing to the nearby islands, visited a local school, and had lovely conversations with the students. This community has many meaningful support projects, and we really encourage future visitors to consider contributing to some of them. This place is truly a hidden gem! I stayed 3 days 2 nights, wish I can stay longer. What makes this place so special are the staff. From the manager (pick up me at the town and send to the resort by boat), the boatman, local guide, chef, helper and all in the resort. This resort strategic location is perfect who love quiteness and really into the nature. Trust me once you are here you dont feel like to leave. Staff went above and beyond - manager took me on a day tour of Lake Bunyonyi himself and also arranged my transport across the border to Ruhengiri in Rwanda. Super helpful! Restaurant is well priced and good food as well and the grounds are super nice and relaxing
