Wonderful, kind and amazing staff, extremely polite and helpful; massage ladies were awesome, beautiful pool and rooms that were extremely comfortable and clean. Great food variety. Kitchen staff woke up early to make up breakfast so we could catch our flights. Good beach. The perfect quiet and private getaway in a beautiful location. Family friendly. Would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a small sized high-quality 5 star hotel. Would definitely go back again.

Honestly, this was one of the best places we've ever been. We traveled the whole island and this small hotel, included its location and atmosphere, the willingness of the staff and the services clearly dominated our entire holiday. This vacation was something special for us! We didn’t paid that much attention before the booking in regards to the beach. As we expected a sandy beach as we knew it from previous holidays. However it turned out that this was not that big issue for us as it got overcompensated many times by the hospitality of the peoples working there. It is hard to put it in words, you simply have to experience it. Two minor things are that it would be nice if the kitchen would offer a dinner plan which lasts for 10 days or two weeks, actually the food is repeating each week. However the quality and the kindness of the chef and the entire kitchen team is simply outstanding. The 2nd minor thing is the small bridge leading the way into the ocean. It is almost impossible, especially for older people to climb out of the water at the end of the bridge. But that should not be understood as a complain, it is just a small hint of how to improve further.

We stayed 3 nights with my wife and we truly wished we had stayed much more. We loved the simplicity and the ultimate relaxing atmosphere. it is truly a little paradise where you just need to choose between the ocean and the pool, furniture and decoration is simply great, the whole area is surrounded by trees and the overall ambiance of the place lets you relax and enjoy your time from the first minutes. Kindest employees that we liked to interact every day, delicious food from the restaurant that we ended up eating every day as well. Thanks a lot to Anna and to the whole team that made our stay perfect. We also arranged a Safari Blue excursion with their help and it was a great experience.

The staff were very polite and could not do enough. The room was spacious, bright and well equipped. The pool was clean and welcoming. Although the garden had not had time to establish, it was well maintained. The evening walk to the Terrance was relaxing with the beautiful sunset.

We had the pleasure to stay one week at the Castaway Villa. The complete team did an amazing job fulfilling the promise to provide a home far away from home and to go even beyond. Our holidays literally started the moment we got of the airport and ended when the driver dropped us. Everything in between was taken care of including organizing day trips. I booked a night in that hotel because my friends were in the hotel near Milele . I like everything, the food was great , the portions really generous , all the staff very friendly . The room was very clean , the breakfast was super delicious, when I arrived in the hotel was to late but they prepare for me a super good pizza , perhaps the best I ate in Zanzibar . Was the best evening for the birthday to my friend and my stay in Milele beach resort .

You need to be in a resort to enjoy the stay, in my opinion. The area outside is very dirty, busy, and not very pretty. The water is not pretty at all and the water is dirty. You need to go further North (like Nungwi) for the blue water.

Please remember that Marumbi is a Village in a poor third world country and therefore there is very little to do. A few local shops. A couple of local Restaurants (We loved Bustani), no bars and a hotel that doesn’t welcome outsiders. If you are looking for nightlife it’s probably not for you.

Michamvi is located approximately 65 kilometers from Forodhani, and the journey can feel quite long—particularly if you have just arrived in Zanzibar. The drive is somewhat uncomfortable due to the condition of the road, which consists largely of worn, uneven tarmac. Additionally, the area lacks local street food options, leaving nearby hotels—most of which are high-end and expensive—as the primary dining choices. As someone who genuinely enjoys the rich and flavorful cuisine of Stone Town, I found the food in the area to be rather bland and not reflective of its price point.

The resort was clean and had the island atmosphere. Food was good and a variety to choose wwwith different restaurants. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Just a reminnder that you will pay extra at the airport for insurance fees and also extra tax fees at the hotel if its not included in your original price.

Pongwe Beach Hotel is a perfect place to stay for a relaxing vacation. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beach and grounds are beautiful and well maintained . We love that it peaceful and quiet with no loud music or jet skis. We enjoyed the program put on by the hotel staff that included the guests.

Michamvi is good for relaxing and enjoying . There are few vendors and they are not disturbing you and friendly. We stayed 25 days at Kikoi Boutique Resort and arranged all excursions on Zanzibar as well as a Safari with Sir Alex at Kikoi for reasonable prices and with good service . Their Cook Mister Mahaveer Sing is a real Master Chef and we enjoyed every meal he prepared us . Compliments to all the people working there. You made our stay unfogettable. This area has less tourism than some other areas in Zanzi...

This area has less tourism than some other areas in Zanzi bar, it has what you need, different restaurangs, a super market, beachbar and so on. There is not so many other tourists here so you feel like its really a part of an small island. If you are looking for highend dining and alot of shopping then i advise you to look for another area or do as we did - get a car or a taxi its ok priced for a full day. The traffic was really suprising - its was better then most so called modern countries - slow, keeping distance -respecting each other - we rented a car for 3 days and it was super nice. We payed 30usd/day + 10usd for the local driving license - dont drive to fast or drunk - the police are really on there toes - and mind the big roadbumps... We ate a lot of lobster and fish - always fresh - never dissapointed, we also ate alot of vegetarian food - its everywere great dishes.

It was amazing!!

It was amazing!! Beautiful place and unbelievable accommodation. Food great . The service from the staff was the best ever !!! Both of us fell in love with all of the people working there . Cannot recommend Pongwe Island enough ❤️
