Beautiful location. Property is new and neat. The staff are very hospitable. The hotel is very close to the beach, around 3 min walk. The breakfast was very varied and tasty (for each day of a week you will have different breakfast) it also includes fruits and eggs prepared on your choice. Wi-fi connection is stable, hairdryer, fridge are available. Nice area near the pool. You can enjoy drinks on the bar.

The staff was the best part of the hotel, everyone was very friendly and always helpful. Aida at the front desk was amazing throughout the whole stay, from check in to check out! Always friendly and ready to help, whatever issues or questions we've had, everything was resolved quickly. The facilities at the hotel are also very nice: two pools, tons of options to entertain yourselves - ping pong, game of pool, darts, etc. There's also a spa and a person who can help organize different tours and transfers on site.

We stayed 11 nights at Casa Dantes and absolutely loved it. The location is perfect, you can be at the beach within 5 minutes. Every morning there was a delicious breakfast waiting for us, with something different each day for great variety. Our room was cleaned daily, and the owner Marco and his staff did everything they could to make our stay as relaxing as possible. The massage room was also excellent. Marco is incredibly kind and always happy to have a chat or give helpful travel tips. We had very relaxing days here and will definitely come back. Highly recommended, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

This year we spent our Christmas vacation at the Riu Palace Zanzibar Hotel. It was already our second Christmas holiday in this hotel. I would like to thank you for the wonderful days spent in this hotel. Where to start? From the beach (beautiful clean beach, great service of beach boys and security), bar and restaurant staff very nice, attentive. Yohana always greeted us in the main restaurant with a nice smile (we thank him for always a nice welcome). Food quality very good. A mix of Indian, Italian and international cuisine. In my opinion, the rooms are beautiful, stylish, always beautifully cleaned and smelling :-) Every day before going to bed, they prepare your room again. At sunset, have a drink at the Ginger bar by the pool and take photos. Unforgettable! Special thanks to the Assistant General Manager Mr. Ghosh. An excellent person not only as a personality, but also from a professional point of view. Always available and willing to help. Thank you

Beautiful villas in outstanding tropical gardens. Servis of all staff was amazing. Whole hotel concept is unique to safe energy, water and local resources. Chef Beral in main restaurant allways come with new fresh and modern ideas for kitchen and meals. Beach is amazing here well maintained and you can find here quiet spot even beach is not whole private and there is also public part but massai security personal cares about guests and their privacy here. This beach is best on island when you are looking for no tide beach there is only minimum tide during day than other Zanzibar beaches. We loved also Spice garden. You don ‘t need to go to others on island - Zuri spice garden is better than other and include all plants and spice and you can enjoy it for free every morning with hotel guided tour.

Nungwi dreams is absolute paradise. It is situated right on the beach, which is not very busy. You do have to be mindful about swimming because of the tide and the sea urchins/rocks. The hotel provides complimentary use of sea shoes, which was great. There are two pools, which are both excellent and very clean. The views from the hotel are absolutely spectacular. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made our stay a memorable one. The food was good and was overall similarly priced to other place in the area. We had a massage which was relaxing and reasonably priced. The tours organised by the hotel were also fantastic. During our stay we went to Stone Town, Prison Island, on a Spice Tour and kayaking on Kendwa beach.

Very nice room and facilities, beautiful surroundings and helpful friendly staff. It was Valentine’s Day one day during our stay and the resort put on a very impressive dinner and show. Beautiful beach with a decent selection of restaurants and bars. I loved the Fish Market restaurant and kept going back. Amazing blue sea, powder soft sand and great location for sunset. As a female solo traveller I didn’t like constant hassle from men dressed as Masai.

Matemwe is a perfect destination for anyone who wants peace and quiet, but still has access to great activities. You can easily arrange dolphin watching and swimming tours – look for Captain Lucho, he helped us with everything and made the experience amazing. A beautiful and relaxing place to stay!

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to...

Kendwa beach was definitely the best beach compared to Nungwi, especially the south part. Even in low tide it was easy to take a swim. Also the beach here is wider and feel less crowded. As on the complete stretch there were many people trying to sell you stuff but on the south part not so many ”permanent” sales people other than the ones having sheds. The Maasai roaming around are friendly but just say no with a smile and most will not be persistent in their effort to sell you something..

Generally, a lovely and intimate establishment with staff that care for your personal needs. The manager is so friendly and always wants to know how the guests are doing. The most beautiful sunrises. The performances add to the spice. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

There are a lot of hidden costs when coming to Nungwi.

There are a lot of hidden costs when coming to Nungwi. If you book any excursions, be prepared to pay double what you book for as they add on conservancy and entry fees on top. The beaches are not the crystal clear blue that you think. The beaches are highly affected by the tides. When it is low tide the beach is covered with seaweed and the water is too far out for you to swim. You only get to swim for a few hours a day when it is in high tide. If I were booking to come back to Zanzibar, go to Paje!!

Matemwe was nice - the beach part.

Matemwe was nice - the beach part. Sad to see the poverty behind the gates of the hotel. The tides were a bit different from what we have expected as the water would leave the beach at 9am and return around 5pm. If you did not make it to swim early in the morning, you missed it. We took a reef walk which was beautiful, saw a lot of see creatures, and that was very amazing experience. Also took a boat tour to see the sunset - it was worth the trip. Did not like how the locals would just stop on the beach and start shouting at you to buy smth. Also the part of the hotel beach is not segregated in any way, which does not give you a privacy enough. If you are looking for white sand beach with the best ocean waters and minimal tides, Kendwa is the best place in Zanzibar. The beach is the most spacious and greatest on the island and the village provides all the necessities you would need. With many tours and water activities offered on the beach you would hardly need to move anywhere else. It is also a walkable distance to Nungwi during low tide if anyone is interested in a more bustily environment.

I loved everything about this place including night...

I loved everything about this place including night performances during supper. It is so easy to get to different places with taxis that are always waiting outside and the drivers are so friendly and always ready to drive you around any destination

Matemwe is ideal for relaxing and spending quality time with...

Matemwe is ideal for relaxing and spending quality time with friends and family. Matemwe is near Mnemba island 🏝️ for swimming with dolphins 🐬 . We rode bicycles 🚲 around the village and the place felt very safe. There are few alternative places for lunch or dinner. Not too far from stone town.
