Expensive but we got a free upgrade and lovely forest views and a sensational sunset view from the rooftop. The room was a bit dated but huge and functional and comfortable. Banquet morning and night was delicious.

We love every bit of it: nice building, modern amenities, super friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable room with mountain views, hot shower. Despite no central heating, the electric mattress was very warm. Once it's heated, the warmness lasted for the whole night even we turned it off just before sleep. The toilet seat is heated, a great feature in winter time. Another pleasant surprise is that the toilet bowl is illuminated so no need to turn on the light if we need to go to toilet in the middle of the night, how considerate!

Despite some of the lower ratings, we had a positive experience at this property. For us, it was generally very quiet, with only occasional noise in the corridor, which was manageable. The room had a retro/old-world charm but was incredibly clean. It featured thoughtful touches like a mountain spring water tap and a lovely tea-making set, complemented by comfortable furniture for enjoying tea. While our room didn’t have the best view—overlooking the forest and part of the carpark—it was still decent. The exterior of the property may look a bit dated, but this didn’t affect the cleanliness or comfort of the interior, so it wasn’t an issue for us. The service was excellent. The staff went out of their way to consider the needs of visitors to Alishan. For example, they offered a free shuttle to the bus station and were flexible with our plans, even providing an earlier transfer when they saw us waiting. The sunrise tour package they offered was very affordable and convenient, allowing us to save energy by avoiding the very early train transfers. The morning call for the tour was another thoughtful touch. The location is also very convenient, close to the information center and just a short walk up the stairs to the main square. Overall, the property exceeded our expectations. While it is on the pricier side—typical for the area—it is one of the more affordable options in the Alishan recreational area. Highly recommended for its cleanliness, charm, and excellent service.

the staff was accommodating and the room was very cozy. we loved the heated blankets. they made our stay so much more comfortable than the hotel we were staying at in Taipei which didn't any sort of heating.

This is a great place - it's super clean and comfortable, almost next to a bus stop and easy walking distance to the village and the trails. The hosts are really friendly and helpful. As we are interested in tea and he is a tea farmer we were able to learn so much about tea making and production. There's always coffee, tea and snacks available. Highly recommended - this is in fact the first review I ever write, but that´s because we liked Leisurely Inn so much.

The B&B is located above a tea shop, the rooms are beautifully made with wood, very comfortable, clean and spacious. Large comfortable bed in our room, hot shower is great. Bathroom products are all l’occitane and replenished daily. Lots of local tea and coffee available in the room and communal area. We took the HSR from Taipei to Chiayi then rented a car from the station, convenient parking in front of the property. The bus stop to Alishan is also directly opposite the b&b so very convenient whether your driving or arriving by public transport. Really lovely and friendly hosts as well, showed us around the tea production process and tea drying which happens on the roof! There are also restaurants and convenience stores near by.

Sunrise Yunqi Teahouse had such amazing views. When we arrived, the first thing we did was taking photos at the front of the hotel, instead of checking in 😂. The owner was super lovely and patiently waited for us to finish. The place was huge and clean, so was our room. The whole place was nicely decorated, with poems displayed everywhere - you can tell they put a lot of heart into this place that’s more than a hotel, but rather a show of their love of love and respect for the guests. I also highly recommend booking dinner/breakfast with them - they again put so much heart into serving us with the best possible experience. This guesthouse is such a gem and a great find on our Taiwan trip!
