It’s difficult to write a review about this property without it sounding unbelievable, that’s because it is, unbelievably good in every way. The hotel is a quiet area a short journey from the airport, close to the Roman archeological sites of Carthage, stunning views from the roof terrace, staff that couldn’t have done more to make our stay perfect, including meeting requirements for gluten free food and providing guidance for finding our way around. The property is impeccably clean and tastefully designed. The food cooked to order for us was excellent varied and in more than adequate quantities. At the end of the road is a nice cafe called Jasmin, where there was also a friendly helpful greeting, nice food and drinks which we used for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner one evening. I can’t single out any member of staff for special commendation, all went out of their way to make our stay relaxing and very special.

My stay at La Menara was nothing short of incredible! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by their amazing staff, who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They even surprised me with a free upgrade, which was such a thoughtful and delightful touch. The highlight of my experience was staying in the Ottoman Room—it was absolutely extraordinary! Every detail of the decor exuded elegance, with intricate designs and luxurious touches that transported me to another time. The room was impeccably clean, spacious, and perfectly appointed View from Balcony is on the North / Western side, dominated by carthage landscape, but You only have to go to the side of the balcony to view a beautiful Lac / Bay of Tunis, with Boukornine mountain in the background. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable getaway!

I had a delightful stay at Neira, the location was wonderful at the heart of Sidi Bou Said. The owners and staff were very accommodating and kindly upgraded us to a room with a balcony which was impeccably clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and the communal space well designed and beautifully decorated. I had a great time at the hammam, very cosy vibes and excellent massage. I highly recommend this charming place and will definitely be back !

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my family in late October 2024 for vacation. Two rooms, in total 4 people. EVERYTHING was excellent. I do not understand the few people that have put negative comments about this hotel. I did not find anything negative: o Location: EXCELLENT. Just in front of a main bulevard, similar to the "Champs-Élysées" in Paris. Very close to Medina, just 20 min on foot. Taxis were near by, though I was using the Bolt taxi application, which is popular in Tunis, instead of hailing a taxi. o Staff: VERY HELPFUL, polite, speaking French and English fluently. If you want to organise a private tour for your family, or something similar, ask for Fedi, an fluent English speaking person, warm, eager to help and provide ideas. The rest of the staff was also good. I asked for a bottle of water while I was having breakfast and they brought water and glasses for my whole family at the table. o Breakfast: Very good, big choice to choose from. I especially liked the omelletes cooked in front of you and the pancakes. I have been in many cities around the world and this was a very good breakfast. Even my wife and children liked it very much and they are "picky". o Rooms: Quite large, clean, with good A/C. Minor: Rooms could have an espresso machine and maybe a fresh bottle of water every day. Second minor note: More toilet paper to be found in the room, just in case. o WiFi: Of course there was WiFi, free, maybe not too fast, but ok for general use. As said, a memorable stay. I DEFINITELY propose this hotel.

The personnel of the hotel was great. They were helpful and there was even a shuttle to the aeroprt which was exactly on the time I have requested. The welcome was exceptional too. The reception stuff were waiting for me and the room was ready even before the check-in. Some Tunisian traditional sweets were brought to my room upon arrival.

I think three days were just right for the stay.

I think three days were just right for the stay. One day around Sidi Bou Said area, one day in the Tunis medina and one day in Bardo museum and archeological sites. I missed Bardo museum because it is closed on the Mondays. Taxi drivers try to rip off tourists as normal. Negotiate 50% or less of the asking price.

This is an exquisitely decorated, beautful place to stay. The room was very comfortable and the staff exceptionally helpful. It is in a quiet area away from the old city which is always incredibly busy and noisy. The pool was beautuful as was the garden. There are nice places to eat nearby and historic places to visit.

Sidi Bou Saïd is a magical place full of charm and light. 🌿 The white and blue streets perched above the sea offer breathtaking views. Everything is within walking distance — you can easily explore the whole village on foot, and even reach the ancient ruins of Carthage, just 2 km away. For food lovers, I highly recommend Dar Zarrouk and Le Bon Vieux Temps — two of the best restaurants in Tunisia, both offering delicious dishes and stunning sea views. 💙

Nice area.

Nice area. A lot of the shops and stuff are relatively spread out. Really nice people who genuinely help you. Taxis are a bit of a pain from the airport, as they were a little expensive to what I would have thought. However you have to bargain with them a bit.

The location of Dar Salah Bey is very good and has access to everything nearby, the house is cosy, loved the architecture and design, but the owner of the property is required to improve the facilities and kitchen equipment, like good knives for cooking, a new set of forks, spoons, and cooking tools, also provide a good iron and iron board, fix the leakage of a tap connected to the washing machine, provide new and fresh bed covers and sheets, and also provide clothes drying rack, as we struggled to dry our clothes.

The Medina and Souks are an excellent attraction.

The Medina and Souks are an excellent attraction. Avenue Habib Bourguiba is an interesting stroll down the pedestrian centre to the clock tower. Bardo Museum is well worth visiting. As are Carthage and Sidi Bou Said outside of Tunis.

Four Seasons is a lovely place to relax with the family. I suggest a 5 day visit so one can then plan day trips to Hammamet and Djerba as well. one could also spend 3 days at four seasons hotel and then 2 nights in Hammamet if you really want to enjoy a beach.

La marsa beach was right outside our guest house. We could walk to the main part of the beach and the shops and restaurants. We were out of season, visiting during Ramadan so it was relatively quiet. Some restaurants were not open at all, some only during the day, others only at night. We managed to find somewhere to eat every day. I can recommend the Cliff restaurant, Pasta mi Basta (very accommodating with our friend who had various intolerances), Kenko food bar and Blu Blu (Sidi Bou). There was a supermarket which catered for our needs. We also visited the capital Tunis and Sidi Bou Said which had lovely shops and stunning views.

Sidi Bou Said is a traditional village, plenty of market...

Sidi Bou Said is a traditional village, plenty of market stalls and restaurants to suit all budgets, sea views at various locations throughout the village are excellent. Some steep and uneven surfaces to deal with but well worth it.
