United KingdomDrifter’s Anchor in Koh Chang is something special. Stayed here a week and it ended up being one of the best experiences I’ve had whilst travelling. Koh Chang itself is an incredible island, and Drifter’s makes you experience it properly.
The resort is high up on the mountain. There’s a few steps to get up there however it’s more than worth it. The sunsets from up there are unreal: must be the best viewpoint on the island but not many people know of it.
Drifters creates a proper community vibe. There are private bungalows and hostel rooms, which gives a good mix of people (but not overcrowded). Luke and Ben, the two brothers & owners from Canada, are genuinely cool guys and make everyone feel welcome from the moment you arrive. I honestly made friends for life while staying there.
They built Drifter’s Anchor by hand, and you can really feel the care and effort that’s gone into it. They’re always eager to get people out together, which adds massively to the community feel. While I was there, we all went on days out all around the island, It wasn’t forced and wasn’t guaranteed. If you’d rather just chill, relax, and enjoy the views, this place is perfect for that too.
The boys can arrange scooters or bikes to be delivered straight to the resort, and they’ll pinpoint all the best spots on your map so you can explore the island with spots rarely known to non locals.
This isn’t just somewhere to sleep—it’s a place that stays with you. Incredible views, genuine people, and hosts who truly care about the experience you have. I genuinely can’t recommend Drifter’s Anchor enough and I’ll definitely be back.

FranceWe had a marvelous stay of 6 nights in this hotel. We picked the Sea view room, and it was just superb. The room was big, clean, and the bed was comfy.
The breakfast was amazing, everyone will find his taste in the large choice they offer : Thai dishes, western dishes, Soups, fruits, freshly prepared mowed fruits salad. Perfect to start the day, especially because the breakfast area is outdoor, with a roof though, with a view on the sea.
The location of the hotel itself is very well : at the beach front, quiet area, and at a 3min walking distance from the main road where you will find a variety of restaurants, tour operators today organize your snorkeling trips, laundry service, and our truly beloved 7-11 supermarket of course!
The staff was lovely, taking care good care of us and always smiling.
Every evening, the narrow beach of the hotel is used to set tables for dinner. It's pretty, romantic, and you can order either some food from their menu, or fresh seafood or meat BBQ, or even Mukata! The prices are obviously higher than when you eat in a restaurant on the main street, but it's normal and not too overpriced though. It worth it.
The pool is clean, the water is at a good temperature, and you can see the sea while swimming.

Wow, what a great and restful vacation we had here! We spent 11 nights at the resort and we acctually did not want to leave, even for a scooter drive since it was so peaceful and we really needed the stress-out.
We stayed in a room with our own pool and it was really lovely.
Despite that, we also spent a lot of time by the big pool, and off-course, the beach.
The staff is lovely! so kind and always smiling.
Sim, is such a wonderful guy and nothing is to much of a problem for him. He even helped us book massage 3 times, and since there is no massage places close by, he asked them to come to the hotel and so they came and gave us massage in our own bungalo!
The beach is lovely and aprx 1000 m long if you like to stroll along it. There is a few other resorts along the beach so you can variate the eating and drinking if you like.
However, we really loved and prefered the food and drinks at the hotel, firstly because it was very tastful but secondly because of the staff and the cleaniness.
We were on a boat-trip (excursion) one day, which the staff in the reception helped us book. Nothing much about that, some snorkeling, watching the sunset and eating barbeque. But well worth a try if you want to see some other views for a day.
This was definatly one of my best vaccations I have had and I travel alot (2-3 times a year at least). We wish all the best to Sim and his staff and would like to thank all of them for making our stay here so magical! /with love Jenny and Thor

This place was exactly what I was looking for. Together with the swimming pool area, the resort combines a quiet area with well-equipped bungalows submerged in a jungle-like garden. I really enjoyed staying there, since it felt like being just lost in a hut in the middle of the forest, while having the comforts of a hotel. That nap in the hammock while the raindrops were hitting the roof was just next level. The swimming pool area had more lively and festive/beach club-like vibes, and I loved it. Many young couples, groups of friends, families and also solo travelers seemed be having a great time, and even had the chance of getting to know other travelers if you felt like it. The sea views were also great, and the beach is well taken care of. Even lightened up during night time. Walking down the wooden dock was also super nice during sunset, or even for some star gazing later if the night, if the weather allows it. Food and drink standards were perfectly fine, and personnel was attentive and nice, but not intrusive. The value for money was probably one of the best ones I had in recent years in any accommodation.

They have Laser and Hobie cat sailing boats to rent! Beautiful little spots (hammocks, sun loungers, big rocks to sit on, etc.) that enabled a very relaxing way to hang out watching the sailboats and sunsets. Excellent value for money especially when you factor in the complimentary breakfast and free taxi shuttle to the Ao Nid (Boonsiri) pier. But excellent value for money just based on the bungalow and property too. Super unique and enjoyable pool. Just wish the pool was open later to cool off in after dinner (they currently close to pool at 6 pm which seems super early to me for a pool that isn't lifeguarded anyway). Off the end of the pier, they also have a sunken motorcycle, golf cart, and car along with some coral nurseries that are fun to snorkel around when the water visibility is good. Just watch out for the sea urchins.

The new renovated Rooms are really beautiful and well designed also spacious enough for 3 person (2 adults 1 child).
The Restaurant including the staff is the best we experienced in Koh Chang and for us a reason to come back and book again. especially Tat and Pat who are the most friendly ones we ever met our Son is still missing them a lot. The Food is authentic and really dlicious and even if its crowed we never needed to wait long.
The Beach is just stunning and the sunsets amazing

Excellent location with direct access to the beach. Your room is merely 100 meters away from the waterline, - it's simply amazing. Nice pool with two jacuzzi sections. Friendly and helpful hotel staff, very clean and comfortable room.
I rented a scooter and had a glimpse of other beach areas on the island. Must say - Klong Prao is still my favourite.

I don’t think that there’s anything that this place doesn’t offer.
We had to leave at 6:00 AM to catch our next flight. Even though the breakfast buffet started at 6:30 AM, they had kept a breakfast pack ready for us. The receptionist was standing at the gate with the breakfast pack with a big smile.
They had the sweetest staff.

Lovely resort and well run. The entrance drive lets it down, but once you arrive, it's very nice, clean, and well run. I got bitten to pieces from mosquitoes even in the room, so make sure you have good quality repellent and take a good anti itching cream as you will need it. Very good resort if you can get a good rate.

Very peaceful place to stay. Room was clean and familyroom very big for five people. The view from restaurant is really beautiful and the see is Good to swim even if there are some rocks in that part of the White Sand Beach.

What I've seen was fantastic.
What I've seen was fantastic. In so many ways, there are a lot of fun hideaways...that you can't mention them all. Feel free to get lost often. I know I did and loved it. After dark on a cycle...not as much. But day time...just go for it! Don't forget to stop by some of the road side restaurants for your favorite drink.

Beautiful island, very chill seclude, not too much touristic, but has everything you need. Cute cafes, a lot of amazing restaurants, quiet and pristine beaches.
You can also take a boat to Koh Kham, it’s beautiful! Very easy, ticket only 350 baht.

There just isn't very much to do.
There just isn't very much to do. We needed a night stopover before going to the island and our hotel was nice. Had a tasty pad-thai from the one place that was open and a couple of beers from a very nice bar next to a May-Thai gym. The few streets around the river are lovely and you do get the sense that you're suddenly away from all the tourists and in real Thailand. It is also extremely hot so not particularly pleasant to walk around either. At 8pm everything was shut down, including the night market.

Sylvan is vertical resort and beautiful. They do a great job helping you get around. Expensive but you get your moneys worth. Great staff, great views, Santhiya Tree was impressive but probably looked really nice 8 years ago. Over priced, hard to find. No sign to long entrance road. Restaurant named Apple Kitchen at entrance was great and very inexpensive. I’m 80 and my wife is 83. They gave us the top floor with no elevator. Steps are uneven in height so be careful. A real workout. Breaks my heart to see the wood rotting from neglect.
Next resort is Lagoon Prince. Stayed here many times. Old resort, good value, closer to ferry. White Sand Beach is great at night. Food up the beach at Soul & Sand is excellent. Every resort on the beach has a good vibe. From high end to very economy.

The boat Trip was Nice and good Service on the Piers. The Transport to Rest Sea Resort needs one Hour and Maybe Not everybody Like this. But the Location was Nice. Er don‘t know in other time. We was in end of raining Season
The Restaurant Noochy on the Island is a Nice Fish Restaurant

Koh Mak is quite small but beautiful and has a lot of nature.
Good kick-boxing school.
Variety of good eating places
Koh Mak seafood being one of them.
It is far more relaxed than Koh Chang with less to do but I actually found the peacefulness and serenity more alluring.
The people are friendly and it has a up early sleep when the sunsets kind of vibe but also if you want to be out later you can.
There are some very picturesque beaches and bars.
Also a variety of takes on food
By the sea has great sandwiches etc.
If the weather turns bad then this is when the boredom may be an issue.
However I loved the thunderstorms and lightening shows.
Best I had ever seen.

Make sure you stay in town.
Make sure you stay in town. There is no night life, but Trat has great food and a wonderful market. Getting around Trat is not easy, you will have to walk. There are moto taxis but not always where you need them.

Ko chang is a hidden jewel, lots to do and see with other amazing islands to visit. Worth 4 nights stay on anyones itenary. Good viewpoints beaches and bars, much more laid back than pattaya but still things to do. We ve enjoyed the island and would come again

Koh Kood is a genuine hidden gem.
Koh Kood is a genuine hidden gem. The tropical beaches have crystal clear water and there are some great snorkeling spots if you look hard enough. Make sure you get down to The Fisherman Hut and mention Whimsical Tricycle to the owner, Tom. He will know what you mean. Enjoy! But keep it secret. Keep it safe.
