The place is few meters from the beach..you can easily go to the beach in your swimsuit if you want..it's on the opposite side of the road..you can see a corridor in front of the resort. Everything you need is just there. Perfect position! The receptionist with a beautiful name Palm, she's so lovely person, she can speak English very well and she's always there for you. So kind and professional! Also the guy who takes care of the swimming pool! He works with dedication! Always there! Never tired! Big smile and also he can speak English! I really loved stay there!

It is simply sensational! It is one of the most beautiful places on the island. Fantastic views, stunning Pool-Villas for every need. Everyone ist extremely kind and helpful, especially the reception-staff. We only booked one day before and had the problem, that villas were only available for one night. I booked the first and the reception managed to organise a stay for 3 nights! I wouldn’t mind staying here for 2 weeks. I don’t know how to top all of this. They arranged everything we asked for and helped to sort out any problem we had. You will not regret this!

our stay in this hotel was absolutely perfect. everything is great, starting from the location which is close to the fisherman’s market and many other hotels/restaurants, the hotel is in front of a very nice beach with private area and a pool that looks right to the sea, the food was great starting from the breakfast and the dinners. Rooms are just dreamy and the staff is very collaborative and kind. complementary yoga and Pilates lessons and they are also organized to support with tours and motorcycle rentals.

The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The facilities are amazing: there is a lot of space, the bed is comfortable, the private pool is very nice and clean. The public pool and the private beach are also awesome. Breakfasts are great. Do not miss the long stewed pork meat station at the entrance :) It is also worth noting the option of a golf car ride from the restaurant to your room - it is not just comfortable, but also fun :)

Koh Tao is snorkelling and diving heaven.

Koh Tao is snorkelling and diving heaven. There are amazing reefs within the bays of the island where you can see abundant fish life as well as turtles and black tip reef sharks, and a wide variety of healthy hard and soft corals. We did a longboat day trip which took us to around 7 snorkelling spots within equipment and advice on where the best spots were. So worthwhile! The island also has so beautiful viewpoints but most will expect you to purchase something each or pay a fee to view. There are plenty of great restaurant options. Rockhill was a great place with affordable food and drinks. Matchima Thai food serves very tasty food with great portions at a great price. The island does have some steep roads and some places where the road surface is not great. Be aware if you are deciding to rent a scooter. Traffic in the busier parts can also be Thai hectic. Overall Koh Tao is a great place for those who love the outdoors, particularly snorkelling and diving, and those looking for a place to relax and de-stress. We stayed at View point Resort which has been my best quality and value stay on my month in Thailand

I read a lot of reviews about the amazing beaches of Koh Samui. I tried many of them and I can tell with confidence that Chaweng was the best by miles. I was based in Chaweng and I though to check the other beaches. I walked all over Lamai, which is very panoramic, but there is a constant stink wherever you go and the beach inside has a lot of corals/rocks that will probably hurt your feet. Crystal Bay was tiny, not comfortable because of the corals and overcrowded. I didnt see Fisherman Village beach while the others on the east side looked dirty. Choose Chaweng

Lamai is for those who like things to be bit slow and quiet. You will do everything that is possible on the Island in less than 4 days, after that you either enjoy the sun, pool, beach or numerous cocktail places. It's at bay s you wont have to worry yourself about natural disasters such as Tsunami.

The National Park has limited access to the public with only...

The National Park has limited access to the public with only 1 trail available (3k one way) for everyone so many people are on the same trail with little chance to see wildlife except for monkeys, snakes, and a few birds. If you want to go further into the park you have to pay a high price per person for a guide. The guides are quite varied and the park couldn’t recommend anyone with extensive knowledge of the ecology or wildlife. But they were good at spotting snakes which we wouldn’t have seen otherwise but only knew the name.

Haad Rin is a beautiful beach with plenty of bars and restaurants lining the shore and lots of shops, restaurants around the strip. During Full Moon week, the atmosphere gets wild—every venue competes with fire shows and loud music, creating a chaotic but energetic vibe. I imagine the off-season must be much more relaxing, though I haven’t experienced it myself. Personally, I found the Full Moon Party a bit disappointing, though that might be due to my expectations. I'm 40+, and I was hoping for a more organized event with better music and a diverse crowd—people of all ages from different parts of the world. Instead, it felt more like a chaotic gathering of mostly very young partygoers (early 20s), primarily from England, Germany, and Denmark, whose main focus seemed to be drinking and drugs. In November 2025, the original party was canceled due to the passing of the King’s mother, so I can’t speak to the usual experience.

We really enjoyed this area of Koh Samui. Our resort (Hansar Resort & Spa) was perfectly located and very comfortable. Fisherman's Village was in easy walking distance from our resort and gave us easy access to plenty of restaurants, bars, convenience stores, pharmacies, massage, etc. Unfortunately, we were down for the count most of our trip with stomach issues so we did not venture outside the Bophut area. Even with the illness, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and plan to return soon and explore the rest of the island.

Mae Mam beach is lovely.

Mae Mam beach is lovely. Two very nice chillout bars with beanbags and deck chairs. Couple of restaurants you can walk to along the beach. Our favourite was The moon but. The food was really good, music on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday it would be great if there was a crowd of you.

I choose to stay in Bann Tai for its central location.

I choose to stay in Bann Tai for its central location. There are much nicer locations on the island to stay, however if you are like me, and like to explore, then this location is best as its in the middle of the coast line, and its close to central heart road ways that take you to any part of the island quickly.

We went to visit a friend who recently moved there.

We went to visit a friend who recently moved there. It is not really a tourist town. We went to the Mangrove Forest and it was run down and unimpressive. The Saturday Market was underwhelming. The highlight was the view from "the hill". Surat Thani is what it is... a large city that gives you access to Koh Samui and a city for locals.

The night life - bars, cafés, markets, and I enjoyed getting...

The night life - bars, cafés, markets, and I enjoyed getting a massage after all the walking around. There are many massage parlors and massages are so affordable here. Also, the service at the massage parlors is very good.
