I absolutely LOVED Goodthing Hotel! I love that it’s a boutique hotel with just a couple of rooms, so unique and special. The room was huge and so nicely decorated. Location is also perfect, right at the center of Fisherman’s Village. Not to mention the ladies at the cafe, so nice and so welcoming! Wish I could extend my stay! Would recommend without a doubt :)

The rooms are gorgeously decorated in style, nice and brand new and every single detail the owners have put thought and effort into making the place look perfect. The gardens were stunning with tropical plants everywhere. My favorite was the pool area. I can stay there the whole day with my book and great cocktail from the hotel , totally relaxing and enjoy. The staff members are nice,professional and friendly.

A beautiful resort run by a lovely french couple in the middle of coconut trees, far away from the noise, traffic and chaos of Chaweng and Bo Phut. 10 min from both Lipa Noi and Na Thon pier. Great attention to detail, guest feedback and overall a great conversation with the hosts. Also very close to a quiet Lipa Noi beach.

Beautiful serenity and views from your bedroom window in a modern and spacious villa on the waters edge. Staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Fishing aspect is unreal, caught 30 fish over the day with each being a great fight to reel in! Breakfast included was delicious. Will most certainly be back in the future.

Palm Trees and Pristine Seas

One of Thailand’s most famous islands, Koh Samui (or Ko Samui) is a tropical paradise whose palm trees emerge from the pristine white sands at unbelievable angles, and whose offshore reefs make for great diving.

The most developed resort is Chaweng, though most bars and clubs are set back from the beautiful beach, so the views are still wonderful. Slightly less lively is Lamai, though its beach is no less impressive. Both of these resorts are home to a large number of Koh Samui hotels with private pools, a popular requirement of many visitors, despite the wonderfully warm waters.

Lipa Noi in the west faces Thailand’s east coast and has some beautiful sunsets, while the northern fishing village of Bo Phut is gaining in popularity. Nearby Mae Nam and Cheong Mon both have sweeping beaches that gently shelve into the sea, making them popular family choices.

Travellers don't go tot Koh Samui for its sights – but interesting attractions include the Big Buddha at Bangrak’s Wat Phra Yai temple, and the Wat Khunaram Ko Samui temple inland from Hua Thanon.

This hotel absolutely deserves the rating it has received and all the positive reviews. Even though we’ve only spent 3 days here so far and haven’t left yet, I wanted to share my impressions. From the very first moment you enter the hotel, all the staff are incredibly friendly and always greet you warmly. It’s as if the entire hotel team has sworn an oath to give you an amazing vacation experience :) The level of service is extremely high. While spending time at the beach, you’re constantly offered cold water and other treats. But in my opinion, the best service is the cold towel they bring between intervals :) It’s a perfect way to cool down. Additionally, there’s a happy hour between 1:00–3:00 PM and 5:00–6:00 PM where you can get one drink or cocktail free with your order. Drink prices at the beach aren’t expensive either — you can enjoy cocktails for around 280–400 Baht. The adult pool offers a quieter and more peaceful experience. In my opinion, the sea here is one of the nicest in Koh Samui. However, it’s not among the most beautiful in the world. The water is a bit warm, shallow, and slightly murky. The hotel rooms are very nice. The air conditioning works great, and there’s also a ceiling fan. The room we stayed in had a spacious balcony and a large couch. There was also a table and chairs. Most importantly, the room cleanliness is excellent — the hotel really provides outstanding cleaning service. I think the only thing that needs to be reconsidered is the spa pricing. In my opinion, the prices are a bit high. Compared to outside, where you can get a Thai massage for around 300–500 Baht, it costs 2,500 Baht here. However, during happy hour by the pool, you can get the same massage for 990 Baht. Long story short, I highly recommend this hotel. If yo plan to trip to Koh Samui, you should definitely stay in here.

The moment our van approached the entrance of Centara Villas Samui, each family members felt “Yes! Holidays begins!”. Friendly team members welcomed us to an open air lobby with tamarind tea and sticky palm sugar + durian candies. We are 4 adults and 2 children and stayed at the deluxe spa rooms which comes with a cute little Santorini inspired porch, clean and beautiful wooden interior rooms, comfortable beds with a window couch and the best of all a balcony with a jacuzzi!!!! They offer 3 lovely pools with plenty of sun chairs, towels. The landscape was simply stunning with flower plants. A private beach was our hangout place and they offer complimentary kayaks for the guests to use. We ate there almost every night and look forward to the different theme nights they offered. They really did a good job to welcome Christmas and New Year Eve (unfortunately we could not experience this as their rooms were already fully booked for the 31 Dec). Delicious local and fusion dishes. Breakfast spread was also good and they make an effort to change the menu every day. We enrolled in the cooking class and was very happy to cook 4 local dishes for lunch. Definitely impressed with the efforts taken by the Chef to teach us the Thai Cuisine. And when you are at Centara, you need to relax those muscles and go for the well-deserved massage and manicure and pedicure at their spa. Thank you Centara Villas Samui for offering my family an oasis away from the heavily touristed crowd. Your place was the perfect place for us to laze and relax and find calmness. Your team members were always friendly, helpful and attentive. We look forward to come back :)

The last time I stayed at this hotel was in 2017. Since then, the hotel has improved significantly. Both the rooms and the pool area have become very beautiful. There's nothing to complain about when it comes to the hotel's location, right in the busiest part of Chaweng. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and spotlessly clean. Spending time by the pool during the day is a lot of fun. All the staff members are very friendly and attentive. The beach parties in the evenings create an incredible atmosphere. Whenever I come to Koh Samui, I always stay at this hotel, and I have never been disappointed.

Beautiful hotel with great sense of details and elegance in the decoration. I was upgrade to a premium bungalow because bathtubs were being refurbished in my initial room. The bungalow was extremely comfortable. Location is conveniently close to Fisherman's village, along the sea and quite close to the airport as well. Staff was kind and helpful, breakfast was excellent, and I enjoyed feeling the nature was everywhere in this resort. A very relaxing and beautiful environment where I would definitely go back.

I read a lot of reviews about the amazing beaches of Koh Samui. I tried many of them and I can tell with confidence that Chaweng was the best by miles. I was based in Chaweng and I though to check the other beaches. I walked all over Lamai, which is very panoramic, but there is a constant stink wherever you go and the beach inside has a lot of corals/rocks that will probably hurt your feet. Crystal Bay was tiny, not comfortable because of the corals and overcrowded. I didnt see Fisherman Village beach while the others on the east side looked dirty. Choose Chaweng

Lamai is for those who like things to be bit slow and quiet.

Lamai is for those who like things to be bit slow and quiet. You will do everything that is possible on the Island in less than 4 days, after that you either enjoy the sun, pool, beach or numerous cocktail places. It's at bay s you wont have to worry yourself about natural disasters such as Tsunami.

The resort was fantastic!

The resort was fantastic! The individual villas were great as it didn't feel like a hotel. These gave a more relaxed atmosphere to the resort. The pool was very pretty. The restaurant was spacious and the service efficient along with the delicious food and wine. Great value, a super location and a really pretty resort!

We really enjoyed this area of Koh Samui.

We really enjoyed this area of Koh Samui. Our resort (Hansar Resort & Spa) was perfectly located and very comfortable. Fisherman's Village was in easy walking distance from our resort and gave us easy access to plenty of restaurants, bars, convenience stores, pharmacies, massage, etc. Unfortunately, we were down for the count most of our trip with stomach issues so we did not venture outside the Bophut area. Even with the illness, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and plan to return soon and explore the rest of the island.

There are only two bungalows facing the beach and they are AMAZING!! We did not want to leave our hotel. Some of the other rooms looked nice too but faced the garden walkway. One bungalow faced a concrete wall. You get what you pay for. Loved this place so much.

Chaweng Noi Beach was one of my favorite spots on Koh Samui.

Chaweng Noi Beach was one of my favorite spots on Koh Samui. It’s incredibly beautiful — soft white sand, calm turquoise water, and a peaceful atmosphere that feels like a little escape from the busier parts of the island. I loved how quiet and relaxed it was, perfect for swimming or just lying under the sun. The view with the green hills around was stunning. That said, it’s not the best during low tide — the rocks and coral can make it tricky to get in the water. Also, there’s not much going on nearby in terms of shops or nightlife, and some areas can get a bit pricey because of the luxury resorts. Still, for a calm beach day with amazing views, I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Very friendly people and going to a night market is a great experience! Traveling across the island is easy but it may get a bit costly if you have to take a van for 6 or 8 people. Beaches on the east side are nice but busy. Beaches on the west are less crowded but may get narrow and untidy due to the tides. Overall we were missing the very long beaches with plenty of palm trees and powder-soft sand. Worth a visit are higher areas of the island in middle, e.g. Dee's Chilling Hill restaurant. Also going to the Ang Thong Marine park is very nice.

Loved our room! It was very spacious,clean & comfortable. The bed and pillows met our expectations. The pool was huge! Great for children or grown ups. A very ambient,quiet resort set on the beach front. The beach chairs are very comfortable and the best place to chill with a book or take in the amazing views. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The location is very peaceful and we ordered a taxi or grab to go to dinner in the evening. We had drinks at the Hotel pub one evening. Overall a great stay & value for the rates. The breakfast was sufficient …eggs and fresh fruit/toast/pastries. Handy if you have a motor bike to get around the Island as grab is expensive. .
