We loved our time at Samed Tamarind Beach Resort so very much - we had a villa with a sea view and it was just marvellous and peaceful. The villas are beautifully designed - with an especially luxurious bathroom! It was relaxing and heavenly. The staff were excellent, and always warm and they helped us with everything like taxis to the pier etc. The food was very good as well. Good breakfast! Samed Tamarind is tucked away in a quiet beautiful beach cove on the island - away from the hustle and bustle from the more popular beaches and shopping areas (all of which are easily accessible, however, should you want to explore, by walking or taxi). The hotel is also very well-equipped and prepared to repel mosquitos and insects and take great care doing so. Even if you aren’t carrying your own bug spray - they provide you with some in the room! You should carry it everywhere especially if you’re there during a wet season.

Beautiful place, room was very nice exactly as shown in photos, clean. Breakfast was good. Nearby the hotel is a small shop, restaurant and 2 mins away beach and lots of bars and restaurants. The host was super nice and helpful. Totally recommend! 😃

The resort was amazing and the location was perfect. not a long ride from the pier and within a walking distance (700meters approx.) from shops (seven eleven). Pick up taxies drove by all the time tho if you don’t want to walk. The beach was a paradise kind of beach, white sand and clear water, beautiful. Everything was more than expected from a peaceful get away with a big family with one 2 yo kid.

The lady who run the place is one of the nicest people i met in Thailand. I only stayed one night in Samet but the spot was really nice , cheap , close to the beach and the pier. It's clean and quiet without being isolated. If you can walk 5 minutes , it's really worth every penny.

The resort is very peaceful as it's far from the main beaches. Ao Thian is small, but beautiful with clear water. I stayed in the Ocean Front Jacuzzi room. The views are amazing, and its balcony is in the perfect position to enjoy the live music and fire show that starts at 19:30 every night. The shower was very hot and very powerful. The wifi throughout the resort was excellent: 300Mbps to 500Mbps. The food at the restaurant was mostly excellent (chicken burger was a let down, but all the Thai food I ate was excellent). There was also a roti stall next to the resaurant, and the roti I had was delicious. Very friendly staff who speak good English. Up the hill there's a shortcut to Ao Wong Duean - Google Maps says it's a 20 minute walk via the main road but the shortcut takes 3 minutes (look out for the blue signs in Thai). There's a small store here called Tom Pizza Mini Mart which stocks the essentials, it's signposted half way along Ao Wong Duean so you can't miss it. You can do a nice walk from Ao Thian, to Ao Wong Duean, then Ao Chor, and finally Ao Nuan. Maybe you can go further but I didn't try. Be prepared to pay charter price (300 baht) for a songthaew to take you to Nadan, unless you want to wait and see if other guests want to travel and share the cost. The ride to/from Nadan takes about 20 minutes.

Amazing hotel to stay at during the island vacation. The rooms and the bathroom are very spacious and comfortable, daily cleaning. We loved the pool area as well, plenty of shadow in after lunch hours. The territory of the hotel is also very beautiful, green and well mantained. Breakfasts are awesome-great selection of both western and asian dishes, good quality tasty food. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Very nice location as well, you can get to the nearest beach in under a minute and in additional 2-5 minutes you can get to the shops, restaurants and amazing wild beach. Loved our stay and definitely coming back when visiting Koh Samet again :)

An excellent location on the Island. Perfect for families with children. The private beach of the hotel and the color of the sea water is stunning. If you're looking for party and nightlife, don't come here. Also, I would recommend to rent a scooter, because to visit the island by feet is not possible. The people working at C Samet Beach Resort are extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are very clean and the beds are huge. There is also a restaurant that serves very good food. If we come back to the island we will defenately come back to this place!

The setting of the resort is beautiful and the beach was perfect and great for lazing about all day on a sun lounger and swimming. My room was spacious and comfortable and the bed was the best I’ve slept on in Thailand. Lovely, private balcony to look out over the water. Sound proofing seemed good (or I just had very quiet neighbours). Staff were amazing - remembered who I was, were always so kind and couldn’t do enough to help me. I also enjoyed dining at both Breeze and Buzz Coco restaurants.

The island is very good if you just want to relax.

The island is very good if you just want to relax. Many quiet beaches. Most hotels have live music on, and they play easy listen music. If you want to unwind and just chill i would recommend this island.

It's one of my favorite beaches in Thailand, close enough to...

It's one of my favorite beaches in Thailand, close enough to Bangkok that you don't have to fly, but far enough away that the water is beautiful and the sand is white and soft. I always stay at the same resort on Tubtim beach (Tamarind), and it never disappoints - I don't even leave for food because their food is always delicious!

Loved the Viking Holiday Resort where we stayed. It was very peaceful and just what we needed - good access to beaches and quiet. However there are problems on Ko Samed as many resorts have gone out of business and are derelict - unfortunately with rubbish piling up outside them and nothing being done about that. So it really depends where you stay!
