We stayed at the Khao Lak Marriot on an opening deal and were incredible impressed to say the hotel hadn't even been open for a month. The staff were all superb and each restaurant offers something different. We loved the vast beach at the property and the adult only pool was a very welcomed amenity.

The hotel is even better in person than it appears in the pictures. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom is also well-equipped and roomy. The pool in the room has a comfortable temperature and is always clean. All the staff are ALWAYS friendly and show genuine interest. Special mentions go to the bellboys Tom & Jerry, as well as Tenya at breakfast and the bar. The breakfast buffet is extremely varied, offering great local and international dishes. As a fitness enthusiast, you’ll also get your money’s worth in the top-notch modern gym.

its a beautiful new resort with a lot of green and walkways with beautiful gardens. looks like they grow their own spices and also have some chickens running around in there as well. the kids club is exceptionally good with loads of playstuff and a great staff that enjoys playing with the kids. beautuful sports amenities and the food is also very nice. the pools are great and theres a fun pool with water stuff for kids. but also a more quiter pool for normal swimming. the beach side is fantastic with natural shade from the trees. more than enough beach chairs. bangsak beach area is very nice with some small restaurants on the beach too if you dont want to spend too much on the food at the hotel.

Mai Khao Lak is simply fabulous—there’s no other way to put it! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by this beautiful resort. While it is a bit removed from central Khao Lak, the feeling of isolation is far from a downside. It’s a peaceful retreat, and with central Khao Lak only a short 15-minute ride away, the resort’s shuttle service makes it easy to stay connected (just remember to book your spot in advance). Despite the resort's large size, it remains quiet and uncrowded. Each block is designed with its own spacious pool, so you’ll never feel like you’re competing for space. The variety of on-site restaurants is a highlight, offering a wide selection of dishes to cater to every taste. The buffet breakfast is great for adults but even better for kids offering heaps of kid-friendly options. There's local dining along the beach. These spots serve up delicious, authentic food, and you’ll also find laundry services at an affordable 80 Baht per kilo. Massages also available. We had 2ad, 3ch and booked two rooms: one pool access room and one deluxe room. The resort did an excellent job of accommodating our request to have the rooms close together. The pool access room great, with direct access to the pool from the small decked seated area outside the room. There are also adult only areas with poolside bars and secluded, quiet areas. The staff at Mai Khao Lak are friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, they made our stay effortless and enjoyable, their customer service 5 stars! We initially thought khao lak was too quiet, however there is so much to do if you research your trip. we found Facebook groups helpful for ideas, recommendations, and even booking private drivers. This made exploring the area easy and stress-free. Overall, Mai Khao Lak is a perfect getaway for families or couples seeking a peaceful, luxurious retreat with plenty of amenities and activities. Our experience was excellent, and we would happily stay here again!

The hotel is amazing! Everything was great - from the biggest swimming pool to Thai language classes, offered to guests. I liked pool the most - 300 m of clean and warm water :) The food was great both for breakfast and for dinner, with local and European options for every taste and huge choice of cocktails and mocktails. We had the dinner at the beach for St Valentine's day, and the arrangement was terrific - flowers, Chinese lanterns, music, 7-course meal, sparkling vine, etc. Spa treatments are a bit pricey, but of very high quality. Entertainment is very diverse - yoga, pilates, thai box, thai stretching, language classes, batik classes, and many more. The personnel was very helpful at all times.

First of all, a hotel on a beautiful sandy seashore. The beach is very clean. Lots of beautiful Instagram spots. A long beach, it is very pleasant to walk both in the morning and in the evening. The hotel itself has a modern industrial interior. Small but very cozy. Staff with a smile and very helpful. Breakfast for picky eaters, minimal, but definitely enough. If you want more, the main street is full of cafes. Right next to the hotel is an unreal cafe with excellent cuisine and very favorable prices. Next door - laundry, travel agency. Best greetings ! Recomend 100%

Fantastic stay at Ayara Villas for our family of 4 (1 toddler and 1 baby). The hotel was so clean and staff were wonderful. There to help with anything you need. Breakfast was delicious and fantastic selection with both western and Thai choices (with real bacon too). Room was modern, clean and big. The maid did a great job everyday cleaning the room. Such a wonderful stay and can only recommend the stay. The hotel was a little bit of a walk from the centre but we knew this. It suited us just fine.

It was in a quieter part of Khao Lak and short walking distance to amazing restaurants and a few shop. A real village like feel. We booked a Seaview room and we loved it. We walked out every morning to a sea view and our private sun lounges. Breakfast was included and was a great spread. A lot of space and beach was stunning although could get rough with strong current/undertow and waves breaking close to shore. Massive pool but only went there once because the beach was so beautiful

Breakfast was fair enough to enjoy, although there were many visitors. We had an unforgettable experience. On the first night of our stay, there was a sudden loud noise which turned out to be the breaking down of the airconditioning compressor. The front desk and security members promptly checked and changed the room to a tranquil place. All the people working in the hotel were so kind and smile.

This property is basically on the beach. Beautiful big rooms all with swimming pool view. Lots of restaurants just down the road. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. Breakfasts were amazing. 5 min drive to town. Resort was very clean and neat. The swimming pool was nice and clean. I will be booking this resort again next year when we go to Thailand again.

Lovely strip of mainland beaches that reaches north for around 20kms; less frenetic than Phuket but still with plenty of casual beach restaurants and massages; lots of restaurants on the main road within easy walking distance of resorts; close to golf courses and nature reserves for adventure activities and also within closer reach of the spectacular Similian and Surin Islands (high season only from November to March); a great choice of accommodation from simple guest houses and bungalows to international-branded resorts with every imaginable facility and activity, great options for every type of holiday from a multi-generational family reunion to a quiet getaway for couples; easily reached by a good road from Phuket International Airport in one hour, the same time taken to reach some Phuket hotels from the airport during busy periods.

Nice village feel. perfect if you want proximity but a bit...

Nice village feel. perfect if you want proximity but a bit of quiet without the overan tourist hustle and bustle of patong etc. Id recommend for couples , singles wanting to chillout. Its not a party place-no nightclubs and that is its appeal to me

Lots to do in this area and easier to manage logistics...

Lots to do in this area and easier to manage logistics compared to Phuket. We missed the Similans due to weather. Khao Sok national park is a must see though. We also did hot springs - the posh hotel and thought it was v good. Market was much better than Bangkok and Phuket. Highly recommend dinner at the Fat Shark.
